Yeah hybrid built in Mexico and the 20 are built here. They are built in Mexico.
if they made a hybrid with awd I’d get it regardless of the issues though.

Well I think your issue is a one off. I'm not a Ford fan boy, but I put 45K plus in under 14 months on my 22 XL hybrid. And my first 23 Tremor I put 9400 Mike's in seven months no major issues.I received the dreaded "Stop Safely Now" message a few days ago and the truck would not move.
I scanned the truck hoping it might be something simple. At first glance it seemed to be. I had a code for the camshaft position sensor.
So I thought, maybe I just got a bad component, it happens, no big deal.
Got the truck towed to the dealer and they called me back a few days later. The technician says the engine is actually out of time, and that the circuit and sensor check out.
OUT OF TIME AT ONLY 7700 MILES??
For you that may not understand what I am saying, the motor has jumped timing somehow, the crankshaft and camshaft are no longer spinning in unison.
This does it for me. This truck will be sold once it is fixed.
NO MORE FORDS. Wait for months to get the thing, and only get to drive it about 6 months before a catastrophic failure like this?? Garbage.
Not sure, I think the engines are made in USAThey are built in Mexico.
They were made in the US, but Ford moved the 2.5 for the hybrid to a new plant in Mexico. Not sure, I think the engines are made in USA
Wow so sorry this happened to you. I know manufacturing defects are a thing but talk about some rotten luck.Final update: bolt to intake side cam phaser became loose and cam slipped timing, valve to piston contact insued.
Pistons 1, 2, and 3 showed valve contact and all intake valves bent.
Entire engine was replaced.
Dropped cradle from truck, replaced engine and some other components that they said were necessary with the replacement.
Some other minor recall items were checked and updated or fixed.
I asked and there is still no TSB for the dash rattles. Dammit.
Truck absolutely runs like new. I might be convinced to keep it. We'll see!
Sorry to hear you had a major failure on your new Maverick...that really sucks!! And hopefully your replacement engine will go the distance and your dealer treated you right.Final update: bolt to intake side cam phaser became loose and cam slipped timing, valve to piston contact insued.
