good point, and here's bunch of other 'don't ever' things related to recovery:Indeed. Never use a tow ball hitch. They're not made for recovery. They can and do fail, causing injury up to and including death. Just a PSA for those who aren't yet aware.

Looks like mission bay.I had my very first recovery today with my hot pepper red Maverick!! A friends’ Bronco Sport with shitty street tires got stuck in the sand after hitching up a double jet ski trailer and trying to leave! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be and didn’t take much. Good thing I already packed a recovery strap. A small accomplishment but have to start somewhere.

Soft shackle if at all possible. Basically, dont use metal hooks is what it comes down to.So how do y’all rig up to recover someone with a strap?
We can’t all get a tow truck every time we get stuck.
Nice! Atleast you have it. Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it!Good job. I do pack a strap, though not needed yet. More so someone can pull me if I get to ambitious out in Big Bend Nat'l Park.
Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it!I also carry a tow strap for just in case situations .
Nooo I took the tow ball off! Thank youGood job. For safety reasons I hope you aren't yanking out using a tow ball. They are known to shear off.
Exactly! AWD or not, “sand mode” or not, the tires had no traction and was only digging deeperAren't they all AWD? I think the system is basically the same as the Maverick's.
But doesn't matter much if the tires can't get traction. The AWD is severely limited by the OEM tires, except the Falkens.

I’ve put a few back on that beach before. Glad the truck came in handy.Haha yes! Fiesta island
Great job! Did you haul out the Bronco with the trailer attached? Now that would be newsworthy! (Not that yours isn't)I had my very first recovery today with my hot pepper red Maverick!!
