Take #2 AND #3.
ALSO…
Put in an order for a ‘23 hybrid (as you wanted in the first place).
If a suitable ‘22 hybrid comes in (at MSRP), cancel the others and you’re all set.
If the EB comes in (at MSRP), take it and trade or sell it when your ‘23 hybrid arrives (again, at MSRP). Who knows, maybe you’ll like the EB more! The way things are going, either way you’ll make out in the exchange, money-wise.
Worst case scenario, you end up with the truck you want, but not until next fall. With a “second choice”, in the interim.
All of this depends on the dealer doing the right thing (MSRP’s). They definitely owe you.
Keep putting out the “bad” word about the dealer. Let them know that you will definitely put out the “good” word if they come clean and do right by you. Give them a chance to do the right thing.
Remember, and remind them, THEY OWE YOU, BIG TIME!
One more thing…………
Remember that the dealer is STILL making a healthy profit at MSRP. Plus the holdback, etc.

Holy cow! I have an October order in with Autonation Ford St. Pete (XL ecoboost with only copilot as accessory in order to get quicker build schedule). Used them after getting doubletalk from Brandon Ford.
Still no build date; now worried about the order (but I did get confirmation email).
Now looks like my basic EB won't get to me for 6 or 7 months after order, after being told "maybe 3 months, but probably 4 months".
Frustration is building...

Just found out that my hybrid order was never formally placed by the dealership! I placed the order and gave them a $500 deposit back in early August, but they never "finalized" it. Of course Ford won't take any more hybrid orders until next summer, so I am basically f**ked!
Considering my options:
1.) They'll give me my deposit back and I am back to square one.
2.) I can wait and see if a customer ends up canceling their hybrid order and I step in.
3.) I order with an ecoboost engine and they say they can get me a higher priority code.

I am kind of leaning toward #3. Obviously it's more $$$ and lower mpg, but need to calm down a bit before I decide.
Has anyone been unhappy with going with the ecoboost engine option? And did you upgrade to the AWD and do you think that is was worth the bang for the extra buck?
I dont regret getting the ecoboost awd at all, it was worth every penny to me; I did go up in tire size and a chunkier tread pattern out of necessity where I live but for the first couple weeks that I had with the factory tire I was getting slightly better than advertised economy, around 25 city and 34 highway which was pretty awesome. I did go down once I swapped tires and I tend to drive with a bit of a lead foot which doesnt help but it is what it is. Sorry to hear that your dealer screwed you over.

Option 3 should be at no additional charge if they $&@# you. They should eat the difference if you have the signed order sheet.
Right, they’re going to now give him a discount!!! Right!! That’s not happening, guaranteed.

I would try to negotiate with the dealer to give you first right of refusal on any customer cancelled Hybrid - with agreement to sell at MSRP. If there aren't cancellations, then they should have you first on the list for MY23 orders.
I agree if they will do that this seems the best option …

A few have suggested staying with your dealer for a 2023 hybrid.
Good idea!
BUT never talk to a salesman again!

Tell the sales manager "he" really messed this up and the only way for him to make it right is to write an order for a 23 optioned just like the 22 he messed up!
AND sell it to you at msrp for the 22 you didn't get. o_O

Nope never a confirmation from Ford either. Probably should have been a red flag early on.
That just stinks. Sorry that happened.

Not a bad idea if he's willing to wait, but a lot can happen between now and June when the hybrids can be ordered again. The turnover rate in the car business is extremely high and I also suspect that managers may suffer from memory issues.

Hoping for a good outcome...

How many possible hybrid orders do they have that a customer may back out of?

Probably not many. It sounds like the dealership doesn't know how to properly place an order.
