I would try to negotiate with the dealer to give you first right of refusal on any customer cancelled Hybrid - with agreement to sell at MSRP. If there aren't cancellations, then they should have you first on the list for MY23 orders.

I certainly would not re-order with them. Unless you get the Eco for free like @Cad said.

I wanted AWD, so I had to go Eco.
I have/had the 2.0 Eco (with AWD) in my last 3 Fords, I really like it.

Only you can decide if the $ is worth it to you.

I'd say make them do a nation wide search of other dealer inventories and find you your hybrid. They can do this.
and then they can pay for the additional shipping to get it there.

The problem is I most likely won't get the options/colors I want and can't imagine there is going to be a lot of cancellations..

If your Mav will be used a lot for road trips, the eco makes more sense because hwy mpg is not much different even with 250 horses.

The AWD was actually a better choice for our ski trips, camping, and some basic offroading. It's more fun to drive in sport mode, safer passing, upgraded suspension, more towing with 4k, safer in bad weather, and best of all - not forced to chain up with AWD in the snow.

If you do mostly city driving, then hybrid.

My 2 cents. Cancel your order, the dealership is either incompetent or dishonest. Call Mullinax Ford in Vero Beach. No dealer fee (they do charge $695 for "tax and tags" though). I am paying MSRP. Took 15 minutes in and out.

My hybrid (ordered 6/16) is shipped and due 1/13 to 1/19.

FWIW- If my hybrid order was effed up, I'd order an AWD ecoboost do some mods!!

It is still worth your time to call Ford customer service and ask if they have an order under your name. Autonation could be jackin' you around.

Just found out that my hybrid order was never formally placed by the dealership! I placed the order and gave them a $500 deposit back in early August, but they never "finalized" it. Of course Ford won't take any more hybrid orders until next summer, so I am basically f**ked!
Considering my options:
1.) They'll give me my deposit back and I am back to square one.
2.) I can wait and see if a customer ends up canceling their hybrid order and I step in.
3.) I order with an ecoboost engine and they say they can get me a higher priority code.

I am kind of leaning toward #3. Obviously it's more $$$ and lower mpg, but need to calm down a bit before I decide.
Has anyone been unhappy with going with the ecoboost engine option? And did you upgrade to the AWD and do you think that is was worth the bang for the extra buck?

My two cents: Option 2 if they'll agree to sell it to you for invoice (not msrp) - consider this a customer winback and if they don't know what that means just say it is a matter of principle.

Option 3 should be at no additional charge if they $&@# you. They should eat the difference if you have the signed order sheet.

I hate this option because while it is the most stress-free it also means that you're stuck waiting AND might get fucked by ANOTHER dealer!

I might consider giving your first dealer another stab at your business IF they give you a realistic price concession for staying with them (since they have admitted it’s their fault/doing). I would think they might concede a nice discount on an EB or even capping or eating the 2023 MY hybrid price increase….thereby you get a 2023 at the 2022 price.
