yes and there are things just like that for E85 and flex fuel, also.

I don't need the CNG finder, I was just commenting that it was extremely rare to just stumble onto a pump.
Yes I agree with you they are pretty rare…

I don't support the ethanol subsidy but if it's there and you get crazy cheap gas, OK.

this is E30 93 octane. is it as good as mixing E85 and E10 93 octane? no, that should yield 95-97 octane depending on the ethanol % in the E85. but this is in a pump and you can see it's extremely cheap.
Great for EB performance too, but how much of an FE hit do you take compared to E10 93? I'm sure, even with that, it's still much more cost effective. I wish we had that here.

hard to be certain since I never drive in such a way that I'm trying to maximize fuel economy. I am not in sport mode all the time, WOT at every light, either.

by the math it should be around 10-12% loss which is going to be 2-3 highway mpg. my truck is a 4k tow and I do 85 on I-35 & I-70, so I'm not one of those with an ecoboost getting low 30s doing 60-65 on the highway.

Live in MA and 87 is a little under 3.00. However, I believe that the only gas being sold in the state is 10%.. I don't believe that 0% can be sold here in MA. See it in Northern Maine when snowmobiling, but only in premium up there. Though it may be here, never seen an E85% here in MA either.

no, it's the ethanol subsidy. I'm in the middle of Kansas and we actually do have ethanol refineries relatively close, so it's possible the corn never had to go very far.

I just realized while technically correct, it might not be obvious reading my first post. E30 = 30% ethanol, this is a flex fuel. the E85 pump is even cheaper, it showed $2.30/gal today.

there are some E85 stations where I blend E85 and E10 87 pumps, but it's not cheaper than this station's E30 93 pumps and of course you can only make guesses about how much gas is in the tank and then use a blend calculator app.
Can the ecoboost use flex fuel?

only if you have a tune made for it.

stock ecoboost or hybrid can use 15% ethanol max, 87 octane minimum, and it's down to local fuel quality whether the stock ecoboost can get max performance out of 91, or needs 93.

The hoses in the maverick are rated for E85. Not necessarily for any higher methanol content. Ii’s not necessarily just about tuning.

and your source for that statement is..? theories pulled from thin air aren't facts.

many late model Ford turbocharged engines that are not rated for flex fuel are then tuned for E30 up to E85. there is not a concern about ethanol damaging the fuel system. it should be pretty obvious that if 30% ethanol caused issues, 15% also would, just more slowly.

Who cares what the octane rating is if you exceed the requirement of max 15% ethanol in the fuel. The Mav runs just fine on 87 octane.

Am I the only one with a 2024 EB that is not built for use with E85 fuels? My capless filler area has the circle with the line through E85 and the manual says E85 cannot be used on it.
