Backed it up with a couple more runs. Narrowly taking the title for fastest Mav! 12.91@106mph! Ivan and myself have so damn quick Mav's!!! Also why I named mine QuickRik, lol.

Another 12.96, followed by the 12.91.

So this is a run of 1/8 mile then protecting what the 1/4 mile time would be? I find it hard to believe maverick’s are faster than 1969 Boss 429 Mustangs or any other muscle cars of 1969.

Look at the slip, it is 100% a 1/4 mile slip. At the track with a lot worse DA it went [email protected].

Look at the right side of the blue bullets. The bottom one is quarter mile. The listing of bullet points goes down the left side, then down the right side. I guess it can be confusing if you aren't used to the dragy layout.

I think I have had my Hybrid Maverick up to 85 passing once. It feels pretty peppy but not like the OP's, I am sure.

Back in the day, 1977, at a local 1/4 mile drag strip I turned 11.2 at 132mph with my dad's hobby racer 68 Mustang fastback with 427 tunnel port engine, 4 speed, locked spool big slicks. What a rush, never been faster than that. He told me he had about 3500 in the car at that time.
That engine was awesome. Don't suppose you have it any more.

This alone makes me want to switch my order to an EB. But I would go broke quick once I start going faster.
I had an 85GT 5 speed with a high revving 306 and AFR heads. I could drive to the track swap tires and run 11.71@116. I remember the first time I ran 12.90 in that same car in the mid 90’s, that definitely was a great feeling.
I had a similar motor in my old Maverick. AFR 185s, X-cam, 10.5 comp, air gap intake and a 650 mIghty demon carb. It had a C4(no OD) but kept the 3 to 1 gears and had tall tires so it wasnt super quick in the 1/4 (high 13s/low 14s) but I had it over 140mpg with more rpms to go. It was such a fun car to stand on the throttle at highway speeds and just blast off.

I remember it had a 7500 redline and I missed a gear once and it went close to 10,000 and stayed together. A lot of rpms for a 427. It came out of a boat in Oregon and my dad said it had 625 hp. My dad sold the fastback mustang complete with motor for 2500.00 He cracked the 9inch housing after putting in 31 spline axles and just gave up racing. Things were cheap if you had cash back then. He was retired and just having some fun. I'm retired now too and having fun with motorcycles and my new Hybrid Maverick.

“It had Over 140 mpg” did you mean 140 mph?

I'm in Oregon. Would love to see another 427 for sale here. We gave up many good 60's cars. 65 Falcon Sprint, 9 inch housing, 289 4 spd. 64 Fairlane 289 4 spd. 66 Mustang 289 4 spd. 65 Mustang Boss 302, 5.83 9 inch rear end. 67 mustang GT 390 4 spd. Those were all in Iowa. I don't plan on retiring. Financial advisor so I work when and where I want. Play a lot of golf and travel. Love my new Hybrid Lariat Lux Co Pilot Maverick.

My 2018 Mustang was quicker than any showroom stock 60's Muscle car when bone stock. Even quicker than a 427 Cobra. Technology has changed greatly. Very common for 4 cylinder cars to outrun 60's-70's muscle cars. Here's my 2018 Mustang 5.0 Bone stock with 800 miles running one of 1970's quickest cars, a 70 Buick GSX stage 1.

yea with all of the traction control on the 18 mustang, I can see that, but chopping off 4 cylinders, in a not so aerodynamic truck, and still a 3,000 + lbs vehicle, it is still very surprising. Did the Mav go through all 8 gears?

Lol, no. I think the end of the quarter mile was in fifth gear.

Traction control was turned off, the car is slower with it on. Oddly, the Mustang GT and Maverick 2.0 both weigh about the same at at 3,700# The 4 cylinder Mustang 2.3 is a 13 second car stock, and at least one is running 9's in the 1/4 with the little 2.3 Turbo. Only matter of time before someone hits 11's with a Maverick. The Mustang is a A10 trans, and it crosses the finish line in 6th. Even boosted to 17# now, it still crosses in 6th, thanks to a bit taller tires.
