“I am not going to drive around 20 - 30 miles just to make the mileage look better. “

Maybe not to make the mileage look better but to help get to the root of the problem and determine if the gas consumption is still bad under different circumstances.
Having more info will help if you ultimately need to take the truck in to the dealer.

Don't forget to check your tire pressures with the season change. Lower ambient temps are going to reduce the pressure resulting in more rolling resistance and lower MPG.

AFAIK, frequent, short trips, break-in period will cause a drop in the mileage and so does colder weather. I've seen that earlier in the year, where it would be around 15 - 17 MPG. In warm weather, that changed to 18 - 19 MPG. Here's December and this is the MPG for My2023 EB 2.0:

That's after filling it up with Shell super on last Friday, looks too low for me even with short trips. There's no DTC, or anything else, the truck runs like it used to, nor did the driving style change.

Any idea what can cause the sudden drop in mileage?

Thx...
From the looks of this, it looks like the vehicle has been running for almost an hour and a half since you reset Trip 1 and having driven less than 20 miles on this most recent fill up this is probably the average you would see for that combination of 19.4 miles and 1 1/2 hours of run time.

With less than 20 miles on the "trip", idling for just a few minutes will make it drop like a rock, so will 1 or 2 hard accelerations. Wait until you have 80 or 100 miles on this "trip" before you start worrying.

That's a good idea, I knew someone will come up with it ;), and will do that in couple of days. Thx...

The tire pressure has not changed since February, couple of days ego all four of them had been 35 PSI, but will check again.

Yes, the hour shown is high, but the clock is advancing even in accessory mode that had been used over the weekend, even yesterday for a short time. If that taken into account for calculating the mileage, then the dashboard display is incorrect.

My truck idles for short time at the first startup, until the RPM drops down to around 1K, or less and off it goes. Subsequent startup practically has no warm up, other than the time it takes to buckle up, check for traffic around and put it in gear. The last one is really hard with the rotary switch...;)

I will, once the issue is confirmed, or identified, thx...

I do have a Lariat EB 2.0...

Even in the summer, I have not seen more than 19 MPG. Again, a round trip is usually around 3 - 6 miles that may have a couple of stops, 99% of the times city traffic and the auto stop/start seldom works. I am not going to drive around 20 - 30 miles just to make the mileage look better. Where I live, there are three towns around mine within three miles distance.

And no, I don't have a "lead foot" either. Most of the times the speed is around 25 -30 MPH, with low RPM. Yes, winter gas drops the MPG, but not this much based on last winter's experience.

PS: Thanks hybrid members, but that does not help me much...
Most of my trips are similar to yours. I am retired and I live in an area where most everything I need to do is close by. I try to group my errands so I get the engine up to temp. My indicated mileage has been around 22 on a full tank- with a little highway to help it out- in 1800 miles. Our temps right now are 20s to 50s and we get the really cold stuff next month.

Like you I don't want to do longer drives to charge my battery or help my mileage. I think I will use the battery tender once a week when we get the really cold weather and do some long drives for lunch when I get tired of being stuck inside.

I feel better now. Im complaining about mine dropping to 29 in this cold with 10 minute warm ups before driving. Mine will stay on fast idle for 10 minutes with you only going short distances it never reaches normal operating temp.

I just have a battery jumper in the truck, in case the battery dies; the truck is parked on the driveway, no easy way to use a battery tender. In either case, needing to make this type of arrangement for a new vehicle is ridiculous to say the least. My 25 years old F150 under the same, short driving distances never had an issue with the battery. It had 10 -11 MPG steady in pretty much every seasons.

Now, this low mileage and people wonder why I plan to sell this truck next spring and get something different that is not made by Ford....

If your mind was already made up to get rid of your truck and buy a non-Ford product then why start this whole thread?
You got plenty of feedback and advice from other members, and the consensus is that something is wrong if that’s the mileage you’re getting. Take it to Ford.

You could say that this had been the last drop in the bucket. I could've let go the battery/charging issue, hence getting a battery jumper, but the mileage issue is the final drop in the bucket. I've never really liked the truck anyway. It's a nice little truck and probably would have kept it, if it wasn't for these issues.

Taking the truck to the dealer is useless, based on my number of experience with them. I want a vehicle where I don't need to worry about the battery possibly being dead, the mileage is way off and other little annoyances. My 25 years old F150 was one such a vehicle for its lifetime with me, I missed it...

Give your self more time and mileage. Unless you have a heavy foot you should have around 24- 25.5 MPG. This is a Tremor I think you would do better with a regular XLT or Lariat..

I have found its all about how you start at a light or stop sign. If you ease into it you get better mileage if you slam on the gas it going to lower MPG. This is not just the MAV, but all cars. There is no reason to take off like a bat out of hell. Also, prevailing winds make a big difference. My mileage going to work (driving east) is much better than driving home if its a windy day. I added a bed cover thinking that would help mileage but not really. I am in Indiana so it getting cold so the colder weather is has caused a drop, by a 1-2 mpg.

There's nothing like a tail wind to help you along.:giggle: Driving habits have a severe impact on MPG s.

Living in Florida will get you this. Where I live, it gets below zero at night. I get usually 18 mpg. In the summer, I will get 22 mpg like you.
