Anyone tried ethanol free gas yet? This 2.0 turbo rocks in sport mode. In eco in town I get about 21.5 but I like to feel the turbo too much!

What app is that Romac?
It’s called Road Trip MPG, I’ve been using it for years with several vehicles now. Also has a maintenance cost tracker etc too, and it breaks down the data over time into graphs and various data points. Pretty interesting for geeking out over stats with your car, and in general ways to track and spot trends. There is a free version I believe if you wanna try it out, also syncs with iCloud or Dropbox or can be exported to spreadsheets.

I am in Florida and the warm weather certainly isn't helping with my mileage. 99% city. 93 octane from Costco.

With the spike in gas prices, I have changed my driving behavior and it has resulted in a decent increase in gas mileage.

Using Auto-Stop start (I have the Autostop Eliminator installed)
Using Eco mode (when I remember to turn it on)
Less jackrabbit starts

I have been driving the exact same roads, routes, etc.

One note: I was using 93 until the gas prices spiked. I have been using 87 for the last 300 miles or so. Maybe I would get 1-2 MPG better on 93, but the extra cost wouldn't be justified.

A lot of variables in the gas mileage calculus. 10% ethanol mix will average less due to less BTUs in ethanol verses gasoline. Also, even though the turbo engines will adjust timing for lower octane the mileage will be a bit lower than using higher octane in most cases. Winter blend usually results in lower mileage. one of the car magazines did a study (don’t remember the reference) and different brands also affect mileage.

Altitude of operation affects mileage. Higher altitude will increase due to less oxygen and therefore less fuel needed to keep the stoichiometry ratio correct. (Also engines generally have less power at altitude (4% less for each 1000 feet) but turbocharged engines less affected).

Hold down the right button on the steering wheel to reset the MPG calculation, once you get into the turbo a few times, it takes forever to recover. If you figure out what brand gas gives the best milage, please pass it on.

Just finished another long highway drive and managed a whopping 36.5MPG for my ecoboost AWD. My overall average is still running just above 26mpg combined. as a note this was coming from the beach up to elevation in Sammamish. The roads are not really hilly but the overall trend is upward.

I am pretty mellow on the accelerator but never when below the speed limit... maybe a bit above

I have another road trip this week down to Oregon and I plan on activating ECO mode to see if that changes the mileage.

I was able to pick up an XLT with 4k last week. The first tank I got 26 mpgs, the dash said 24. I should do my second fill up tomorrow. I am expecting a little better since I've been utilizing the auto off and running in economy mode for more than 98% of the tank. I will post once I do the math

So my second tank was on point with the dash. Dash read 25.4 my math said 25.6. Close enough for me. Hopefully she does a little better after the break in period

So I have moved a compact tractor 60 miles from my house on the interstate with rolling hills. I was a over the 4K, tractor and trailer was about 4777 pounds. I the haul/tow mode at 70 mph avenged 13 mpg. I differently could tell I was over weight with a little wobble from time and again. I won't be doing it again after I bring it home. I started out in the normal mode but watching the rpms and the feel of both the truck and trailer I switched to the haul/tow mode.

I've always thought of the factory rating as suggestions. Of course I also towed an old 18' travel trailer with a 92 toyota 4x4 pickup. I love seeing that Maverick with a load behind it 👍

Sounds about right. I get around 15 - 18 MPG with up to about 3500 lbs in tow weight for mine. I can also say based upon my personal experience tow/haul mode will get you the best MPG and handling with a loaded trailer. When towed that did you use electric brakes or not with that trailer?
