Although it has grown on me as a reliable and solid ride over 16,000 miles, I had instant buyers remorse driving my bloated pig Maverick away from the dealership. The Maverick is a full 10 inches longer than my old Ranger, and has a stupidly large turning circle to match. Happily, I've moved out of the congested city to the countryside, where the Maverick is more in it's element.

We've had a ton of threads here where the "it's a bloated pig" crowd and the "it's a tiny truck" crowd send volleys of arrows at each other. It all depends on where you're coming from. If you're coming from a bigger truck, the Maverick is tiny. If you're coming from a smaller truck, the Maverick is bloated.

You could say the same about full size trucks.

right now I am sitting at 46.9 MPG for a '22 Hybrid XLT(27K out the door, with a few add-ons)-you can call it anything you want. I call it "killer".

Compare side x side with an older Ford Ranger. Our trucks are significantly larger. But! They are small in comparison to most other vehicles out there. We have become a nation of whales! Perfectly matches our waistlines. Sorry, but true!
Our trucks compare best to a 87-96 Dodge Dakota. That was a mid size truck then.

A mini truck is a bloated pig to a kei truck. Given these size comparison pictures. I would call it an average sized vehicle and small truck. Not mini, but small.

Still a small truck, but a long vehicle.

The turning radius is rough, but still very much love my Tremor. Cannot think of another vehicle on the road for $31k that I would want more than it.

Its a mini in comparison to the other 22+ year model trucks on the road.

Man I wish I had a Maverick when I lived on Maui. It would seriously be the perfect vehicle over there. I had a Suzuki Grand Vitara when I lived there which was a great Maui cruiser but the Maverick would be the best.

I could see that. And get phenomenal MPG with the slower island speeds.

If you're coming from a smaller truck, the Maverick is bloated.
Not many truly small trucks made in the last 20 years. My ‘02 Ranger was about the same size overall. With the same lousy turning radius.

I miss My S-10. I had a 1996 standard cab with the 2.2 liter and a manual transmission. However, MY s-10 with mods, only got 22 MPG average.
I have to say, not bad for being a foot longer but with a crew cab with quite a bit of room for a "smaller" vehicle in my opinion.

You guys are correct in my opinion, I went from a first gen versa hatchback with probably one of the best ever turning radius of any car to this truck which routinely makes me look like Austin Powers trying to turn around in a hallway.

It’s a late model truck that comfortably fits in a standard garage.

What vehicle isn’t much larger than its predecessor of 10-20 years ago? Nothing, that’s what.

This thread is a ridiculous. argument. This is 2023, not 1980-2000.
