I just don't understand this truck

When I first got my 23 hybrid lariat the cigarette power point would stay on forever after truck was turned off.
After the latest reprogram it was turning off when I shut the truck off and been that way for 2 months
Now it stays on for 20 min plus after truck turned off and nothing has been done to the truck.
I'm afraid it has AI and thinking for itself :confused:
I have a hybrid Lariat with lux package, my 12V cigarette power point turns off about 90 seconds after I exit my truck. I have my dash cam plugged into that receptical, and it always worked that way. Turns power back on as soon as I start the truck.

We don't own our vehicles anymore, they own us. You have to figure out a way to unravel their personality and appeal to it.

Welcome to the world of software driven vehicles and continuous updates.

You own it, but you don't have control. At some point , it would probably be smart for long term owners outside of warranty to disable their cell connection and turn off the WiFi link. Lest we all find our cars bricked without any good means for recourse. Likely, no, but not out of the realm of possibility. It has happened to many people / products that have OTA updates in history.

I have found that this truck sometimes takes up to one hour to completely shut down everything except the Fordpass app. This is why the original golf cart battery that came with the truck was destined to fail. Getting an AGM battery as a Christmas present for me.
I think if you use the keyfob and double press the lock button to cause a horn beep, things shut down right away.

I'm still trying to figure out the rhyme or reason that I get the radio turned on to FM station when I haven't had the FM radio on in months.

OK, well I have noticed if I double press and get the click, the display console goes dark right after that. Otherwise like 20 mins for accessories to fully shut off.

If you haven't done this already did you look at your settings under "radio" I believe if the check any of the choices such as (AM) (FM) or other media that's what will play when you first start your vehicle.

Tested this when I first got mine as well. Very inconsistent. I temporarily had my dashcam hooked up to the 12v and it would sometimes run for hours and sometimes shut off after 3 minutes. All I can say is I'm glad I have battery packs for parking mode and that I rarely need to use it anymore. The batteries in these things are apparently in another civilization tier well above us with their ability to understand energy.

My observations of deep sleep and cigarette lighter voltmeter.

I had three deep sleep experiences. The truck was a little over a year old when I had the first one. It was several weeks after a software update, I don't which one. The truck had not been driven for about a week when I got the first deep sleep message. I did not drive my truck until the next day. The door unlocked with the remote, the interior lights didn't light, but the truck turned on and the ICE started after a couple of minutes. The other two experiences were similar, 5 days and 4 days of not being driven. I took my truck to the dealer for the taillight update and had them check the electrical system. It took about 4 hours to check out the electrical system and of course they found nothing wrong. It's been over a month without a deep sleep message.

I installed a cigarette lighter voltmeter. It doesn.t come on until I turn the key all the way to run. When I turn the truck off the voltmeter stays on until I open door, then it turns off immediately.

Mine was turning off with truck until 2 days ago. Nothing changed so not sure why it's doing this now

Thats all I buy is AGM's, I have an Odyssey in my motorcycle. What's the story with the stock 12v battery? What's special about it? What AGM fits the Maverick hybrid? Is there a downside to the AGM?

Yeah I do that. A royal pain. It's unnecessary. If I have my seatbelt ON already (ditto for a passenger) there's no need for a warning on the IP after the belts are attached and the bells have stopped ringing. Just plain dumb.
Seriously, I'm with you but it all made me realize how things have changed. With my first car there was an actual starting sequence with the choke and accelerator. I carried a screwdriver and book of matches to set the points every 1000 miles. When you got hot driving, you cranked down the windows and directed a blast of air at you with vent windows and a linty of other PITA features. Yet today it ticks me off to have to push the button to clear that stupid seatbelt picture off the dash. I guess the good old days weren't so good and I've really become spoiled.
