I wonder if this thing will use some maverick body stampings or if it'll look more like this overseas Ford van. If it looks like this, I think it'll do quite well.

Highly unlikely. Commonality with what else is being assembled at the same plant is cheapest. Guess what Ford prioritizes.

I guess we'll wait and see. If Ford was gonna go that route, you'd think they would have shared body panels between the maverick and bronco sport. But you're right, it's probably a cost saving measure.

I don’t even want 7 seats, just a bunch of space in the back and seats that fold out of the way like the element!
I want 7 seats because I do rideshare on the side. It opens up the XL class which would mean extra money for those requests. Currently the Sienna is the only good choice for a 7 Pax Hybrid. And they are hard to get in base trim.

Pretty Much... LOL :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Which is WHY, I don't understand that they built the Transit Connect in the first place??

Thou... A new "Base" Transit 150 starts at $47K, Cargo 227 cuft.
The "Base" Connect started at $35K, Cargo 127 cuft.
I. D. = 72" length, 62" width, height 50".
Which would be close to a "Maverick" Connect...

Jerry
They didn't build the connect for the US, they just also sold it here. It was an existing product in Europe. I would've bought one, but wasn't into the 3rd world build quality of them. They were very Primitive inside. The Maverick Mini van should be perfect.

It could look like that, but won't share any panels. That is based off of the Fiesta. It is a VERY small van, based on the Fiesta chassis with a 1.0 EB.

I'm surprised the interiors aren't more similar. Usually it's glaringly obvious, but between the Bronco Sport, Maverick, and Escape I had to look around to see the common pieces. They did a decent enough job with differentiating them given what they had to work with.

I’ve been telling people that the Maverick platform is perfect for a Transit Connect replacement.

it has the payload to make the outgoing one and it would have the towing for it as well.

More importantly they could increase their personal usage sales in comparison to fleet sales. With its hybrid engine and now AWD addition. And for those who want more grunt the 2.0T will greatly improve its get up and go compared to the outgoing N.A. 2.0. All the camping and out doors people would love it.

Since the Maverick is based on the Former Transit connect platform, it makes sense to keep it on the same platform but make them in Mexico vs. Spain.

Please stop.
Hey, just my 2 cents.. :giggle:
The description ( just had two doors, with two seats, and a van area from there back) of this topic on Reddit, puts the possible version to look more like this....

We've know for years that a Transit Connect replacement was coming. I'm betting it's a return to an urban work/passenger van, not another SUV or Ford Flex vehicle. I actually wanted to purchase a loaded Transit Connect wagon years ago after seeing them in Türkiye, but my local Ford dealer only ordered the work van variant.
