Maverick Scarcity

Ordered a 2025 XLT on Jan 3. So I have been carefully watching for Mavericks as I go about daily life. I have not seen one in my area since Jan 3. Seems strange. I live in a suburban county of Atlanta.

I'm In Cherokee County In western NC. They are everywhere up here, I mean everywhere.
Both my Local Dealers, King Ford In Murphy and Jackie Jones In Hayesville
each have eight or nine I think. Both have two or three XLT's, Both have three or so Tremors,
I got one of two Lariats, the other dealer doesn't have one of those.
On the road people are buying the XL's, so many of those.
I've seen only two Lariats out on the road, no Tremors yet.
Quite a few people are trading In Rangers.

I test drove a ranger 4x4, Didn't like the Interior space, it felt cramped.
had to stay on top of the handing, it felt tippy.
The price was not reasonable for my wallet. I drove it to please the salesgirl.

On an average day I'm out running errands I see a dozen or more.
I have not yet seen a single 2025 on the roads or on the dealers lots.
They are wheeling and dealing to move the last of the 24's.
I did good on mine.

I wonder If they have any 2025's hidden out back behind the wash rack :'P

Supply seems low and the demand seems high - I shopped online and visited 4 different dealership before finding the Maverick I wanted and purchase it. The dealership I purchased from probably had at least 30 Maverick on their lot but only one 2025 Maverick Lariat AWD Hybrid so I pulled the trigger, it was a special order the customer declined to purchase just hours before I arrived this one definitely seems to be a unicorn

I'm in eastern Iowa, and I probably see Mavericks on my daily commute most days. There are also 2 Mav XLTs that park at my workplace each day in a 20 car lot, so not rare for me to see them at all. (and then it will be 3 once my '25 Lariat arrives).

There have been about 350K Mavericks produced since 2022. 280 million total registered vehicles, so about 1 in every 800 vehicles is a Maverick. Many more than a couple years ago, but still a small percentage of all vehicles.

Ford has increased the supply and we are rapidly approaching the half-million total produced mark. But even then, the sales pale in comparison to other vehicles. So, the fact you don't see too many is to be expected.

Compared to a year ago, I do see them more often than before when I could drive the entire state and only see the one I'm driving. Once Ford pulls the plug on the Escape, I could see Maverick popularity take off since it would effectively be the cheapest vehicle on the lot.

Within the last year or so, I see at least one per day. It's usually an XL used as a company truck. Or, if it's a civilian model, it's typically an XLT. Probably because it's the trim that's right in the sweet spot. It has just enough features to keep most buyers happy while staying well within budget.

Lariats are harder to find as a result. I guess they're a bit too expensive or flashy for some. I'll see those every so often, maybe every few days. I never see Tremors. The Lobo isn't produced yet but I'm sure that'll be rare too.

I remember when I got my first Maverick in 2022, I was one of very few in my area. Definitely a unicorn. Now, they're all over the place, which is to be expected after over three years of production. Still nowhere near as common as something like an F-150 or Tacoma but definitely more than from launch.

I've only seen one 2025 out in the wild. It was an Oxford White XLT that I saw from the back only. The dead giveaway was the new blacked rimmed Ford Logo. The pre-facelift was chrome.

Same over here in Madison county. Here in Mars Hill there are at least ten I see every week. In my little country neighborhood there are five I see almost daily. Guy across the street has one. It's rare for me to go for a drive and not see a Maverick here.

Was waiting to pull out of my driveway yesterday and i saw coming my way new shiny EG 25 coming my way and best part she waved when going by. It was a beautiful truck and was easy to see coming from a distance.

I think they put all the delivery holds on my dealer's lot. I see a run of Mavericks on the way past every day.

Maybe I can order one to match my eruption green lariat and hopefully the delivery time is less than a real one lol
