Im having trouble wrapping my head around that it would not sound good, its very front biased because the amount of sound coming from the front plus alittle software jazz, adding in a woofer and tweeter x2 that will be crossed over in the back and receiving full range would play way better no? it would just be like having door speakers in the rear like most cars do. Its from the ACM and would not be a tempered with signal going through the B&O amp.
I added a set of components to the rear doors of my F150 and it made a very noticiable difference in being able to hear the rear speakers. I also made a FORScan change to the ACM to tell the ACM that there was a speaker and tweeter. This was a long time ago.....I don't remember if I had a 0 or a 1 here from Ford, but I changed it to a 2. I used a resitor on the tweeter to filter out low and mid-range frequencies from going to the tweeter. Below is from the F150 ACM......not sure if the Maverick ACM has these same values in this bit.

The rears really don't do much. They were the last thing I did after upgrading the front stage and adding a 10" sub. I went with entry level Morel Maximos (I put Morel Tempo Ultra's in the front.)

Sound deadening made a big difference as well.

i think it would make a big difference in total noise and quality coming from the rear plus i will tune the ACM in forscan for a flat EQ and not the fords set poopy EQ

Under the seat you would lose so much mid information because the seat would muffle it . Bass in non directional so waves go in all directions so you would hear bass

Okay fair enough about the mids, the seat is high enough to make a triangular box and have the woofer facing back instead of up in the seat. So sill might work. I have the idea stuck in my head to try this set up and report to y'all about it. But I do agree new 4" speaker would be easier but I like the challenge

It's the mid being behind or under the seat that is the problem. You'd gain a little bass, but lose most of your midrange. It would be very muffled/muddy. Mounting a sub under/behind the seat isn't as big of a deal, since it only plays bass. Anything that plays midrange and up shouldn't have anything in front of the speaker, or it just won't work well.

From what I have read, changing the front door speakers makes the biggest difference, the rears are a pain and dont make much of a change in sound quality. My plan is to change the door speakers and call it good. Talk to the folks at Crutchfield, they really know their stuff!

I listened to the regular stereo in an XLT,
At 65 mph
Then the B&O in the Lariat at 65 mph
The added sound proofing of the Lariat windshield with the B&O was outstanding when compared to the NON B&O system.

I’m an old fart, retired. My last hearing test at the VA showed I can hear a flat 30-19,000 htz
I can hear below 30 htz but not as well.
I can hear above 19,000 but away not as well.

I have a 23XL Hybrid so non B&O. I replaced my front speakers with Infinity REF-6532 IX and the rears with 4"X6" Infinity REF-6432 CFX. I have the adjustment set to full sound favoring the rear and a bit toward the passenger side. I am 99% of the time the only one in the truck and like a full surround sound.

To me It was well worth the rear speaker replacement and sounds great. I did not do any sound deadening and mounted the speakers to the C piller with screws and home made standoff's made from plastic spacers. I cut away the stock mounting from the inside of the interior panel.

I actually have a new box of sound deadening, a new PUZU DSP amp, and a new Rockville powered sub that I was going to install. The speaker upgrade is so nice that I may just stick to that.

It doesn't rival anything high-end. It's a cheap system in a cheap truck with a sticker tossed in to make you believe you're getting something fancy.
I've been in an Audi A3 S-Line for the past month. The materials quality and audio system were excellent... but honestly the audio was still only a small measure better than my Mavericks B&O audio. People on this forum are way too critical of it. It does the job quit well with only a few tradeoffs given the price point.

I'm also coming from a fully replaced audio stack in my prior vehicle with a high end head unit + DSP, component speakers, high quality amps + wires, sound deadening, and a 600 watt sealed sub. That system alone was several thousand dollars just in equipment. I miss it, but the B&O isn't making me suffer... the weaknesses it has are understandable. The typical front door speaker replacement will go a long way to improve it for cheap, and adding a true sub would eliminate the biggest flaw which is a lack of very low bass punch... But then you're going to need sound deadening and rattle hunting as well so it'd be a much more involved process.

The B&O is fine 🙃
