Who remembers the Toyota Corolla/Chevy Nova or Toyota Corolla/Chevy prism or the fact Saab Aero and Saturn Ion shared the same chassis? 🤔
Don't forget the Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe! Or the Daewoo-sourced Pontiac Le Mans.

Brand loyalty is incredibly foolish. Brands do not care about you. Ford is not going to reward you for continuing to buy them with a higher quality vehicle. Brands constantly cash in on their customer's loyalty.
From your profile:

Why do you own two Fords?

I had a 1983 (i believe) Toyota Corolla/Tercel before they were separate models. That car was a brute. My brother and I used to jump hills in and push over small trees... Ended up stoned one night and the next day the car was half pink half brown and all 4 wheels were a different neon color, with big ass green batman symbol on the hood.
Im not proud of myself, or the amount of times i was pulled over after doing this.
I did the same thing in my Vette......Chevette 1983 or so I believe.... 0-60 mph in like 10 minutes top speed 85mph :inlove:

I had one of those. I never got used to the steering wheel being angled to the left, as I remember.
We called them Chevy Shovettes.
The Chevy Chevette steering wheel was noticeably tilted and not parallel to the dashboard because the compact car's steering column was physically angled toward the center of the vehicle at the floorboard and steering box, requiring the upper wheel assembly to bend into a slightly offset position to face the driver. They actually cant, Hyundai/Kia are banned by the South Korean government from selling anything to North Korea.
Oops! I’d like to blame auto-correct but it was probably just me.

I got $1000 off Ford loyalty when I got my last Ford. They also gave me points to redeem. SO technically...

I came close to buying Pontiac fiero GT
I remember going to the auto show. Pontiac was advertising the original fiero as a commuter car. They had a model showing how easy the body panels came off. It's funny when I think about now. That model if she's still alive would be in her late '70s.😲

"Past performance indicates future success" is a warning for not just investors. Just because your past Fords ran well doesnt mean the new one will.

They actually cant, Hyundai/Kia are banned by the South Korean government from selling anything to North Korea.

There's plenty of modern examples: The Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ are the same car underneath, as is the GR supra and BMW Z4. The Toyota bZ4x is built on the same architecture as the Subaru Solterra. The Nissan Rouge is a rebadged Mitsubishi Outlander, there are rumors the Escape replacement will be a rebadged Rogue, and the Frontier will have a badge swap as the new Mitsubishi truck. And until a few years ago, the Chevy City Express was a rebadged Nissan NV200.
The issue was whether Ford cared about its customers. To make some ridiculous claim that they should build a higher quality vehicle just for loyalty is about as relevant as me saying a magnetic compass doesn't point true north, therefore you're wasting your money buying one. Yes, Ford does care about your experience with their products. I'm not sure who told you otherwise but if you're mad at the world for what you perceive is a slight somewhere, look inwards before casting nonsense.
Now are they going to spend $100K on a customer that will generate $50K profit? Heck no, every shareholder would bring suit for such a stupid move.
As for the second part of your response: not sure where that even fits here. Maybe you're trying to show off your knowledge but its not anything that most folks don't already know. You may want to just stick to telling NASA how to build rockets.

Can't argue with free money. That's why my daughter drives a 2017 Honda CRV. We got it for free...

Note: Wife inherited it from her grandparents after no one else wanted it and we happily jumped on it.

Correct on that but we all are guilty of making it so when we chase the lowest price. I can't answer who was the first to try to save money by buying overseas, but the others follow or lose market share.
Actually not correct since some parts are in-sourced.

But I think there's an elephant in the room called tariffs. Must be fun sourcing parts globally these days and being forced to change suppliers due to huge overnight price changes is always good for cost and quality. Let's blame the manufacturers.

Or the Pontiac Vibe body on a Matrix chassis and drivetrain.
