I never bashed the Honda ridgeline, it’s a typically good Honda.
The OP on the other hand has bashed the Maverick at every turn.
I’m bashing the OP, not the ridgeline. How does that make a me a fanboY?

I got tired of him. he made his choice, made his point long ago, and now seems to be just hanging around to downplay our choice of vehicles.

I have left other make/model forums myself.
If the reason was that the vehicle wasn’t working out or was just bad, I left the forum with my final thoughts, warnings even, and didn’t stick around to brag how much smarter I was than the the people who still liked theirs.
I certainly didn’t want them to start feeling bad about their vehicles due to my habitual dissing.

If you don’t like a vehicle, then why continue to post opinions on said forums? We get it, you made your choice. Please leave.

Do some of you really want to continue to hear someone’s opinion about how much better his vehicle is than yours?
I don’t.

Sounds like he made the wrong choice to begin with. He wanted a larger, less efficient, dated, expensive, more luxurious truck than the Maverick.

Being “nice” to someone who doesn’t deserve it is very close to being “woke”

What is it with the "Maverick Fan Boy Cancel Culture" on this forum? The minute somebody posts something interesting (to most of us) about the Santa Cruz or Ridgeline, the knives and fangs come out Give it a rest and dial it back a notch. Some of us are interested in why people trade their Mavericks for something else (or just get tired of waiting). Go kick your dog instead (not really).
Go on a Hogley Ferguson forum and mention that you have a Honda.

Honda is one of the best cars I ever owned. However I dislike the fact that Ridgelines still use timing belts

Nice looking truck. Too much truck for my needs, though.

Same here, I drive 25,000 miles a year, the Maverick hybrid really meets my needs well, it is great having good capability, comfort, and the styling is fantastic. That said, mine has become problematic and my airbag recall was botched on top of that. I wish Ford would have been addressed the known and well-documented issues (e.g no-start/no power) more aggressively. When I get mine back, I'll reevaluate whether I like it as much as before. One starts to wander after a month without.

Congratulations on the new Honda, skyhawk!
I put about 23K on mine so I love the hybrid. I don’t know what happened with your recall but if the roof liner was botched there is a TSB that Ford sent so new headliners are being installed. I’m getting my new one in 2 weeks.

I hear ya, for me it is just irritating when I hear these absolute statements, Ridgline is this, Tacoma is that. I personally wouldn't own either one, both seem boring and dated. Didn't get a Maverick because it was cheap or gas mileage, I bought it cause I thought it was interesting and capable of doing my truck stuff without having to drive a barge.

Had a 2020 new Ridgeline. I liked it a lot. Not so happy with the crappy MPG, the 19/26 was optimistic, more like 17/24. Sold it for other reasons.

So with all of those deals, what was the final OTD price on the Ridgeline? I have a hard time getting deals in Charleston, SC but may be worth a little travel. Any dealers showing less than MSRP on their site?

my dad has a ridgeline and it drives great. Been debating getting one over the maverick as it is a bigger truck, and maybe I need a bigger truck…
Stokes on rivers always seems to be advertising deals on them. My mav is scheduled but almost popped in to see what they could do for me.

We got our Maverick XLT Hybrid last Oct. and here we are almost 9 months later and we already have 21K+ miles on it. The job keeps me on the road. So far it has been great. Averaging around 37 mpg with about 80% of the miles being highway. That is why a Ridgline would not fit us.

Honda is offering $1k instant rebates and 2.9%/60mo on these - and on top of that they can be found $5k-$6k under MSRP right now if you shop.
Ridgeline-Nobody wants them=no supply demand
Maverick- Everybody wants one=can’t make ‘em fast enough

I looked at the Ridgeline last August before I ordered the Mav. Really liked it. Would have bought one except for 2 fairly important reasons.
1 - price, around here a mid-grade Ridgeline, (i.e. XLT) was $45-47K. Way more than I wanted to spend on a work truck
2 - only comes in 4 wheel drive and gas mileage is essentially the same as anything I owned 10 or 20 years ago. I drive way too many miles to buy old technology so to speak. We don't get much snow anymore so don't need 4 wheel drive either.

On the up side its a Honda so it will likely last better than a Ford
Like half of all the unreliable cars my family and friends have owned were Hondas. My dad's civic motor blew after he owned it for 3 days. My friend had issues in the 30 minute drive home from the dealership.

That being said, all brands have their issues, and Honda, like Ford, makes pretty solid cars overall, even if 1 or 2% of people have issues with said brands. I hope his Honda will be more reliable than ours were.

Sold the 2023 Maverick Hybrid and bought a 2023 Ridgeline Black Edition. I only drive 2K or maybe 3K miles a year and wont miss the extra fuel economy too much.

I will keep an eye on the Mav development and maybe in 3 or 4 more years they'll get it dialed in, hopefully with a MSRP still under $25k.

Every new gen model has growing pains - it is what it is. Doesn't matter who the mfg is, very few get lucky with a homerun the first few production years.

I prefer to buy very mature-generation vehicles. This is the 6th model year and 7th production year of the 2nd gen Ridgeline - and by now it is very well sorted out.

N.A. V6 9-sp AWD w/paddle shift, climate control in the rear, nearly 600watt stereo and the entire bed is one giant speaker. Plus it has a trunk - A TRUNK!!

You made a good move IMHO...but when I was looking in my area I couldn't get any kind of a deal on the Ridgeline...thats a better truck than either the SC or Maverick IMHO and with your driving distance it makes sense...

Ridgelines are basically full size trucks…plenty of room and great reliability. Congrats!

I am in the same shoes, my estimated yearly driving is around 3 - 4K. My Maverick, four month old with 1.2K miles, averages out around 19 miles/gallon and that's pretty much a wash when compared to the Ridgeline.

I was one week away from springing for the Ridgeline RTL-E, over $55K out the door, when my Maverick arrived in the end of January for less than $40K out the door. Is the Ridgeline worth the extra $15K? Each of its own, but for me it is not.

There's a lot to like/dislike in both small pickups/SUVs. I initially had some regrets buying the Maverick, still do to a certain extent, but not at the point to sell it and get something else. One thing for certain, I would not order anything from Ford, much less a Maverick.

My experience with online shopping had not been great and Ford does not build trucks like they used to based on my experience with the Maverick. Yes, the Maverick is cheap when compared to other similar sized pickups, especially the base model, but the low price pretty much defines the quality of the truck. One can argue with the last statement, but you get what you pay for...

You still here?
Why don’t you go find a Ridgeline forum?

You weren’t happy with your Maverick?
Fine.
We don’t care.

Go away.
