Yikes on bikes my guy, calm down.
He is pretty much correct. The post was a Mav Slam. No reasons were given for getting rid of the Mav. Just first couple years in production jitters. Obviously wanted a Ridgeline to begin with and willing to pay an extra $15-20k to get one. I have a Mav. Loved the price and 40+ mpg. I love not having to go to the gas station every week! and love the Mav forum for Mav issues, not for Honda lovers to vent!

I should have known better than to click a clickbait title.

RIP your resale value.

See you on the GM forums in a couple years...

Had a 2020 new Ridgeline. I liked it a lot. Not so happy with the crappy MPG, the 19/26 was optimistic, more like 17/24. Sold it for other reasons.
I nearly had a wreck rushing to look at Ridgeline when they first came out but it was too big, mpg was not 25/33, bed was not 6ft, AND price was $8-9k too much.

I'm waiting for Mercedes (AMG?) to come out with a pickup truck, not an SUV.

And then I won't buy THAT one, either... I had one Mercedes - an SLC. It was fun, but maintaining it cost more than the payments on a Maverick would cost. Brake job cost me well over $1000, just for brake pads and labor - the rotors didn't even need to be machined!

There was another $1,200+ on that same invoice labelled as "rat-ectomy"... (Yep, that's exactly how it showed up on the invoice - "rat-ectomy!") It was 100% labor, at their "standard" $250/hour labor rate. We had noticed a rather bad odor coming from the engine compartment (fortunately not inside the car), and the mechanic found the remains of a large rat that was basically "melted" between the engine and skid plate... Apparently, he had to significantly disassemble the car (including some suspension components) to get the skid plate off and clean up the mess...

I had that invoice "framed" and kept it in my office (with the "rat-ectomy" line highlighted), lest I ever succumb to the temptation to purchase another expensive German car... Tires on that thing had to be replaced after 12,000 miles, until I found some decent Kumhos that went about 18,000 miles. And those were not cheap, either, at over $250 per tire. All this was back in the late 90's, and I'm sure the parts, labor, and tire prices have only gone up from those days!

Sold the 2023 Maverick Hybrid and bought a 2023 Ridgeline Black Edition. I only drive 2K or maybe 3K miles a year and wont miss the extra fuel economy too much.

I will keep an eye on the Mav development and maybe in 3 or 4 more years they'll get it dialed in, hopefully with a MSRP still under $25k.

Every new gen model has growing pains - it is what it is. Doesn't matter who the mfg is, very few get lucky with a homerun the first few production years.

I prefer to buy very mature-generation vehicles. This is the 6th model year and 7th production year of the 2nd gen Ridgeline - and by now it is very well sorted out.

N.A. V6 9-sp AWD w/paddle shift, climate control in the rear, nearly 600watt stereo and the entire bed is one giant speaker. Plus it has a trunk - A TRUNK!!

Honda is offering $1k instant rebates and 2.9%/60mo on these - and on top of that they can be found $5k-$6k under MSRP right now if you shop.

I mean that works . At least you could fit bikes in there unlike a Santa Cruz . Even without the cover it flaps over the top . Enjoy

You still here?
Why don’t you go find a Ridgeline forum?

You weren’t happy with your Maverick?
Fine.
We don’t care.

Go away.
Can’t we all just get a long 🤓

I thought everyone who buys a pickup wants a trunk in the bed.
Seems that there are sure are a lot of tonneau covers sold to provide dry storage; kind of like a trunk??? 🤔 People seem to think that the bed cubbies are great for storage in an open truck bed also........ Mini-trunks??

y'all fed this guy for 6 pages?
Is he even still here? I honestly just got here, read the first post and couldn't help myself.

An effing ridgeline... I guess they are similar - if you like butt-ugly and Honda things. Honda can't even compete in the market they used to excel at... Motorcross. lol.

So with all of those deals, what was the final OTD price on the Ridgeline? I have a hard time getting deals in Charleston, SC but may be worth a little travel. Any dealers showing less than MSRP on their site?

my dad has a ridgeline and it drives great. Been debating getting one over the maverick as it is a bigger truck, and maybe I need a bigger truck…
I paid nearly $6k less than MSRP, got a $1,000 instant rebate on top of that for coming from Ford (Conquest Rebate), and got a 2.9%/60mo finance from American Honda. Also got 8yr/100k bumper to bumper warranty extension (factory HondaCare warranty) for $1,800.

Loving this truck more every day. I have untold amounts of gear in the trunk and still have a ton of room for more. Other than mileage, everything about it, and I mean everything - blows away the Maverick. And knowing that it will start run and drive every single time I need it to is priceless.

Indeed it is. The biggest conquest incentive another manufacturer needs for me is reliability. I never know if I'm going to have to use the Noco. And before anyone says, "It's under warranty, take it to the dealer", well, that hasn't worked.

As for the cost:

I hope a $50,000 Honda is noticeably nicer than a $30-35,000 Ford, my FX4 was under $30,000.
Can we now get a post on how much nicer a new Explorer is than a CRV, it would be just as informational.
To add, not all Maverick owners have had a troubled ownership.
Happy the OP likes his new ride but he stepped up to a much, much bigger investment in troubled times.
I enjoy driving the Maverick more for local trips and have 3k miles on it
Travel trailer is 3300# loaded for two people, so 5000# rating on v6 Honda gives extra safety margin. We have 20k miles on Ridgeline, including two vacations. Other than more weight it has adult-size back seat. Mav also has better controls, so plan to drive it most of the time.
