Are you really in Hawaii? The geology looks like you're in North America someplace.

It's good to know how changing a tire (or two) is done in different places around the world.

If this goes bad they will either get some serious rug burn or 70 virgins ;)

Thank you for posting the video. I will have to check fitting sizes, but it looks like a stout 1/2" breaker bar with a 1/2" impact socket from a local pawn shop might come in handy. A hundred forty-eight foot pounds of torque are going to put up a fight. At least they spec the spare tire valve facing down. My Tundra wants it up, where it is impossible to check and top off without lowering the tire.

My thoughts too. Gonna pick up a harbor freight breaker bar and leave it in the truck

Absolute torcher to watch, my hart goes out to this woman for her efforts. She is stating it herself. This spare tire replacement was designed by trol. Absolutely no consideration to the user in case of an emergency. She is in the comfort of her own garage and the amount of time spent is ridiculous. 20 year olds should not be designing anything that they have not personally done themselves. And don't get started on the neutral diel issue of popping back in to park. What a joke.

Thank you, what size socket would I need when using my 1/2" drive torque wrench for the lug nuts‽

Is the full size spare tire on an xl rim or is it on a special rim? I'm wondering if I could replace it with the same tire I have on the other 4 wheels. I believe the socket is 21 mm.

Used the spare tire last night. Of course it was at night and raining. I'm thankful I was able to safely enter a business parking lot before the tire completely deflated.
Setting the stage I'm not as young as I used to be. I am moderately capable mechanically to the point of taking tractors apart and reassembling though I've not rebuilt an engine.
I struggled to remove the spare tire hoist cable from the spare wheel. Not enough slack in the cable. Too dark. Too wet. Owners manual less detailed than needed. I knew I needed to get the plastic piece off and then get the spring thru the center of the wheel. It was difficult. Does not need to be this difficult.
Ford must have changed the 2023+ as I did not remove a bolt to remove the secondary hoist cable.

Tire is not repairable. To all the "spare tires are not needed" "I never get a flat" proponents I say Booooo!
Spare tires are a must. Full size spare tires are best. Even if they are underneath the truck #! @*&%!! darn it.

For those that prefer to be prepared, it's worthwhile practice to change the spare tire on a nice day on flat ground or in your garage before you have an on road emergency and have to figure this out in the dark in the rain.

End of the day we made it home safely.

I do have AAA. And I believe Ford includes roadside assistance on new Fords. By the time they would have arrived to help I was done changing the tire.

I believe one of these cordless 1/2” drive impact wrenches, a 5amp battery, and the appropriate size socket will be more than adequate to handle the jack turning and lug nut removal. I’ve used it on my other trucks. DeWalt DCF900P1.
