That's pretty typical for Ford exhausts. They use a grade of stainless steel that'll develop surface discoloration/corrosion but pretty rarely rusts through. The weak points are usually at the flanges and clamps which are regular steel/iron, and the seams of the mufflers.

The old “you voided your warranty” statement. So if my horn doesn’t work and I bring it in for warranty work they will deny because the horn is directly related to exhaust.
I know I risk voiding part of my warranty for installing a cat back, but since it’s a cat back whatever warranty issue I have if they can’t directly relate it to what I’ve installed then they can’t say much. If they do I go to the next dealer. Sir your ABS is not working because of that exhaust, warranty denied?

Frankly....

Most manufacturers these days are going cheap on paint quality and rust mitigation efforts throughout their vehicles.
I got the whole undercoating package from my dealer, but I swear I have the same amount of rust as what OP is showing.

I’ve been considering getting a catback exhaust. Admittedly, I know nothing about cars, but from what I’ve read it seems like a good decision.
Do you notice any real performance differences at all?

MY 2022- With 16k on it- Exhaust just looking trashed- My 2004 Honda Element's exhaust system still untouched at 235k miles is in much better shape. What metal type by-product is Ford using ? LOL

Hi there! If you would like me to look into your concerns, feel free to send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info.

I can’t say at this time, I’m taking it easy until my breakin oil change at 1000miles. Keeping it well under redline, however, the exhaust tone is worth it for me, if I gain any performance it’s just icing on the cake.

That's not the way it works. The dealer/manufacture must prove that any modifications caused a problem. See "MAGNUSON MOSS WARRANTY ACT" for the mind numbing details.

Man we ain't that salty ! lol. Honda still is 20 years old and is in better shape.
Wait, do you actually live in salt lake city? I live in SLC, well, just south of it in Riverton. I also own a 2022 and have included pics of it below for comparison. I apologize, I don't have a lift, so this was me laying on the ground 😆.

I agree, our winters aren't that bad, well last one was. We don't get much snow in the valley, but we do at higher elevations. I used to live near the draper temple, they salted those roads like crazy because everything was super hilly.

I had my 22 EB come from factory with a muffler with all kinds of rust blotches.
Factory new never saw salt.

About how mine was looking at 32k when I cut it off for the MRT SideKick
I'm thinking about this exhaust. Interested in real world experience. Did you do King of the hill or trail rated? I'm interested in trail rated (I hate how the full length looks, hangs down so much) but don't want to sound like an import rice rocket/focus.

Trail Rated. Has a nice tone to it and is relatively quiet overall which is what I wanted. I cared more about getting rid of the low hanging pipe at the rear axle than I did about noise. It’s noticeable at idle and when you’re in the gas and then is quiet when cruising. Also just have to have a realistic expectation for what “good” is going to sound like from an Ecoboost 4
