Howdy all! I have been loving my '25 Lobo the past 6 months or so I've owned it, and I think I'm ready to lower it. I'm planning to go with the Good-Win springs: https://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/61-3431.html I'm curious if anyone suggests replacing/upgrading any other parts while doing this. Will I need the different alignment bolts? Should I change out end links or anything else? The truck is only a couple months old and only has 4500-ish miles, so I don't think there's anything worn out that needs replacing, just curious if I should be changing anything else other than the springs themselves to ensure I can get it aligned correctly after lowering. Thanks!

I've thought about doing this on my Lobo but I hear suspension takes a huge hit doing this. I'm still in the fence between the look of a lowered Maverick or losing comfort benefits.

Let us know how it goes.

As in suspension/ride quality, or like it wears out/breaks things faster? I've seen a few people complain about CV joints getting worn out faster, but curious if there's any other issues people have encountered with doing a mild lowering kit on the Maverick?

I would pay attention to the year model when looking at posts with CV issues. Although not 100% related to the 2022 year model, they seem to have the most issues related to CV failure. (and they would have failed lowered, lifted or stock).

Lowered, your CV will be more flat than angled. I believe the overall experience through my own and reading others posts is that lowering will generally not increase wear. Lifting does seem to exacerbate the wear issue. Case in Point - My Brother has the Rough Country 2" spring/Dampener lift coupled with a 1/2" spacer. His 2023 has 41,000 on the odo. He is on his 3rd passenger side, front CV and his 2nd on the drivers side (Tremor parts were used for replacements).

Agreed. Theoretically a lowered suspension would have even flatter CV angles than stock.

I lowered my Lobo with the mild goodwin springs. After the install I checked the camber and three of 4 wheels were right at 1 degree, and one of the rears was at 1.7. Still in spec.

Very nice that's really reassuring to hear. I'll probably get it to an alignment shop just to check it but sounds like I'm ordering some springs. Thanks y'all

So I emailed them awhile back asking about this question. This is what they told me.

Hello,

We found the Lobo to sit lower than our stock 2022 Maverick, about 0.5" lower in the front and 1.5" lower at the rear. The drop for the SuperSport springs listed in the site is for our 2022 Maverick. If used on a Lobo, the SuperSport springs should lower a stock Lobo about 1.7" at the front and 1.6" at the rear.

When installing lowering springs and making no changes to alignment we ended up -1.7 to -1.9 on camber all around. If you want to adjust the camber, you will need parts like the camber correction bolts and rear arms because the Maverick really doesn't have the capability for big adjustments. We are fine with negative camber because we like the handling benefits, but some folks want the alignment to be less aggressive.

Thanks,

Good-Win Racing

I'm modifying my 25 Lobo with H&R sport springs and agree with what @Brentw59 posted above. I would recommend adding Goodwin EZ Cam Front Camber Correction Bolts to allow better camber adjustments for only an additional $39 for the bolts.

To drop the front struts to install the new springs you or your installer will have to touch the stock bolts so the installation of the new bolts shouldn't cost you or your installer additional effort ($) and allow for better final alignment of the front end.

I lowered my Lobo with Eibach springs.
I have not taken it for an alignment but plan to have it checked when it's at the dealership for a recall.

I went with Goodwin as well. Also put on a Massive strut tower bar. Used the original shocks/struts. Soon to get the Goodwin rear sway bar which is a solid unit. Didn’t need the alignment bolts or anything special just an alignment at mavis tire.

You don't really need to buy anything else, but you DO need to have it aligned. I had mine lowered with H&R super sport springs, dealer said they did an alignment, come to find out they didn't, and it trashed the front tires. Got it aligned and all is well now.

Good-Win springs are in! Still expecting them to settle just a little bit, but after a test drive everything sounds and feels perfect! Still drives straight as an arrow even; although I'm still going to get it checked out at an alignment shop just to be safe.
