I changed my oil 4/4 at 19,645 miles, just changed it again 4/28 at 24,691. Mobile 1 full synthetic, you wanna come look at my oil and tell me I could have gone another 10,000 miles? It was pretty dark
Just a quick update, thermal sent me a return label, packed up the exhaust in the borla box (original got used in an oil change emergency), and dropped it off at the UPS store yesterday. If nothing else, thermals customer service turned out to be pretty awesome.
I'm old too chops, worked in manufacturing most of my adult life, hearing protection only goes so far.
There are times I can hear my turbos and others I can't, same goes for my intake, and BOV. Usually when I have a cement barrier to my left, the windows go down and the foot gets really heavy...
You don't really need to buy anything else, but you DO need to have it aligned. I had mine lowered with H&R super sport springs, dealer said they did an alignment, come to find out they didn't, and it trashed the front tires. Got it aligned and all is well now.
Thought process was no tune, but it turns out they sent me the dual port and I didn't notice lol
And since the map makes the final call on fuel, not the maf, it's fine. So now I got vroom, whoosh, pppshhh
I could only find the type s, even on their site...weird. You prob wouldn't like the type s either, it's much louder than the thermal, but I'm more than happy about that.
I'm used to obnoxiously loud exhausts, I had an 02 Z06 cammed with kooks headers, x-pipe, and borla. No cats, VERY loud, but...
I understood I would lose SOME ground clearance, but the thermal didn't come close to the rear diff, i could put my first in between the pipe and rear diff. Losing another 4" because it just hung too low. My buddy and I think the hangers might have been welded on wrong, like they shifted in the...
So the borla came today, turns out it is a cut install as well...HOWEVER, fit is PERFECT. Sound is exactly what I was lookin for, subtle during normal driving, loud when you get on it, sound is sooooo good.
But I'm not going to crap on thermal here, they did reach back out after a few back and...
It sounds good when I can actually hear it, but then I'm not sure if I'm heading the exhaust or leaks from the clamps lol. It'll go up on market place and here shortly. I ordered the borla system. Should be here middle of next week.
Not to hijack the thread, but by that logic wouldn't an aftermarket BOV be fine then? Since the MAP is the one making the call on fuel and not the MAF? I know, just silly little "psssh" noises, but it's a legit question...
Bumping an old thread, I went Thermal R&D and the fit is anything but good. Sound is good, but not loud enough. The wind noise when the windows are down shouldn't drown out the sound...
Right now mulling over hacking up the R&D for better fit, or going Borla or MBRP (had both on my F150 and...
I bought the Thermal R&D exhaust due to youtube clips and threads from this very forum. Was super excited to get it in and installed...but unfortunately, when it arrived and got installed, the excitement stopped. Talk about a fitment nightmare... It was first installed in my driveway, with...
Put a new cabin air filter in, installed a stubby Jr antenna, put in new LED bulbs in the third break light (flash when breaking), installed rear roof spoiler, put on new wheels and tires, and finally found out the dealer never did the alignment they said they did, so I set up an apt to do that...
