Lost Maverick Features

Have not used the Maverick backseat since I owned the truck. Why does Ford include a backseat? They should remove it.

I do understand some may feel differently.

Yep, I've seen some people say that they would like a Super Cab version of the Maverick because they don't need the rear seats.

I hate the looks of the keypad and never use it. I say good riddance it makes the truck look like a '90s Lincoln or Mercury. Unfortunately, I can't get rid of the keypad since there would be a hole in the door. I wish it was a stick on unit as it would have been gone the first week. I got a Fob with a backup key how many more ways do you need to get in the truck?

Used multiple times per week. Going mountain biking, camping, skiing etc... Maybe you just need more outdoor hobbies.

I owned a 22 maverick hybrid and never used the keypad, now with a 24 hybrid maverick don’t feel the need for it

Just curious, if someone aware of this feature sees a Ford do equipped at a park, the beach etc do you think that would make a thief more likely to smash the window assuming the key is inside?

At least they didn't remove things mid-model year like they did with temp readouts on the dial.

What I'm saying is I'm sort of curious. Does the vehicle start once the keypad locks the door? If you just smash the window and grab the keys.? Or do you have to know the code of the door? The reason why I'm saying it might be obvious is to somebody who knows this system. Like now if I go to the beach and I see a Ford parked over to keypad, I'm going to think it's more likely to have the keys in it. Now I'm not a thief but thieves might know this info as well.

Dose anyone else feels cheated as Ford has removed standard features on Lariat maverick models.
I purchased a 2022 Maverick Lariat FX4 and absolutely loved the truck. I liked is so much that l purchased a 23 Maverick Lariat Hybrid, I like the Lariat for all the features that it brings to the truck. I believe that Ford has a great little truck in the Maverick but l really missed the all wheel drive on my Maverick that I decided to order a 24 Lariat FX4 because I loved my first truck so much.
Before I placed my order l read here on Maverick Truck club that Ford was going remove some features on the Lariat model. I was very disappointed that the body color mirrors , heater wipers and the Door Entry Key pad would no longer be on the truck. The Lariat is the Premium Maverick model and should have all these features .Ford offers factory door key pads on multiple lower trip models as standard equipment. THE Door Key Pad has been on Ford and Lincoln vehicles since the 1980 s and No other manufacture offers it. l read that , again here of Maverick Truck Club that Ford had so many complaints about the Keypad that they had decided to offer it as a dealer installed option. I also remember reading years ago that Ford had conducted a focus group to remove the. Key pad but also had so much negative feedback that they scrapped the idea. I saw that Ford offers a wired in key pad for the Explorer , Escape and the Bronco Sport. So l ordered my 2024 Maverick Lariat FX4 with the dealer installed door key pad. (The truck l ordered was $3500 more than my 22 with less features.) This is where my disappointment with Maverick starts . I received my truck and picked my key pad and it was a stick on unit that looks a auto parts add on unit ( a note as well when the battery goes bad you have to replace the whole unit.) If Ford is listening bring back the hard wire door entry key pad , with the Maverick price increase in the last 2 years it should be on the truck. l have had multiple Ford vehicles , my wife has a Hybrid Escape , my F150 XLT has the door key pad. I hope to read here on Maverick Truck Club that Ford is listening to its customers and is bringing back the hard wire door key pad .

I have a 2022 lariat with the the key pad.. Question: how do u open the door if the battery is dead and your key fob is in the car?

Don't the lariat models come with keyless entry and push to start? My 2023 XLT has the keypad which is nice to hit 7+8/9+0 to lock all the doors and tailgate but if all you have to do is reach for the door handle to unlock are you really missing out?

Yep, I hear ya. I originally wanted a Mav in 2022 but one got sold out from under me and the other I reserved the dealer tagged on $5K when I went to pick it up, so I walked away from that one.

I was excited when I ordered a 2024 until I saw they removed the rear slider, keypads etc. It was also almost several thousand more than the 2022 I originally spec'd out, but with less features.

I ended up walking away from it when it came in.... Sadly I think Ford had a great offering which they've slowly ruined. I know a lot of people will pay mid $30k for a Mav because "its the cheapest 'truck' available", I'm just not one of those people as it lacks features I think any mid $30K vehicle should come with.

Hoping possibly Ford reads their surveys and turns things around in the future. I doubt it though. I'm sure they'll add even more crap we don't need like larger screens etc to the Mav and keep bumping the price up.

My 23 XLT hybrid ordered in October 2021 was $24,500. The same build for 2024 is $32,315!! Even the same build as an XL is $29,815!

We had a keypad on my ex's Edge and in 10 years never used it, so I didn't see it's disappearance as a loss. The climate readout on the knobs is annoying, but again I keep the temp on 72 and rarely change it for months. Ford might be looking for "premium" features to perhaps add to a future Platinum model. Some other, more important features I'd like to see would be memory, ventilated seats, the larger Escape screen (although mine is fine), foglights, and a Homelink mirror (dealer could get one installed for my Lariat for $952 lol. I have a new Kia one (paid $25)...I just need to grow a set to have the confidence to install it).

I even went to the trouble of detailing it the morning of to make sure that it's represented properly. Both the sales managers and finance manager were super impressed since most people don't go out of their way to do that. As a result, I looked on their website and they're asking top dollar for my trade-in, $34,500. New, the MSRP was $35,062. So in their eyes, it only depreciated a little over $500 which is insane! Just goes to show how taking care of your vehicle goes a long way when trading in.

How much extra did you get for your trade-in by detailing it?
