Just bought one.

Looks like when folded up it also won't block the 3rd brake light and be less of an air brake.

... Please let us know how the Leer one works out for you. I'm in the same boat actually as I'm leaning towards getting a hard cover one too but really don't want to break the bank. This Leer one is more than I want to spend honestly but I'm still thinking it over. I might just revert back to my cheap ways and get a soft cover one in the end, lol.
You can score great deals on used ones if you're not in a hurry.

I just picked up a 2 month old OEM hard roll up (Bak X2) for the equivalent of 450 USD

I really like mine and it's really strong and latches down.. not really difficult to install but the second time will be much easier. Downside is the last fold with the panels only a foot wide it becomes rather heavy to stand up behind wind. I am 82 so that enters into that (a 40lb Sack of ready-mix seems heavier than 94lb sack of Portland. Don't know for sure but someone told me it was 94lbs because it was 1/4 th of a barrel which was the original rain proof canister). Also I think it would be difficult to handle by someone shorter than about 5'4".

May I ask where you found a used one? The classifieds here or on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist?

Thanks! Passed this on to a buddy who just purchased a 2024 XLT. I've got the Bakflip and I paid about $1,000 for it back in 2022. Another issue to be aware of is that the cheaper tri-folds will only fold away two panels, whereas the Backflip and the one you've suggested here will fold all three panels out of the way.

Awesome thanks for the update on availability! I've been looking for one that folds up all the way so I don't loose anymore of the little bed we all have. Ordered, 4 left in stock!

I found it on marketplace

Seller thought the tonneau would be OK but finally needed more room for tools so had to get a cap

If this concerns the HF650M I don't remember exactly but standing up it takes 5" of the bed.

Heres a pic of it flipped up. Could be 5 inches, maybe less?

Ok measured mine 5 3/4" to the flat of the panel. 6 1/8" to the prop rod plastic holder. I measured the standing panels are 5" from the glass window at the top of the gap and are about 3 1/4" thick folded.

My father's day gift, coming by 6/27. I've got a camping trip planned for the middle of July when I'll remove my current roll up to accommodate gear. When I get back, I'll install this one. Gonna be a family fun filled July.

Arrived early! took a little bit of finagling but it's on.
I followed this thread for some tips and tricks because the instructions kind of stink:

Looks great! What are your early impressions of it? Does it seem like decent quality? I know some folks had pointed out their box said made in China whereas in the Amazon description it says made in the USA. Do you use any weather stripping to seal up any areas that might be prone to water intrusion?

It feels really solid and everything seats well. Box did say made in china but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference if that label wasn't on there. haven't used the additional weather stripping supplied yet. going to wait for it to rain and see were and if it leaks then go from there.

Mine does not leak. To make it easier to tighten down the rubber seals across the bed near the cab window I put a towel across cover and enough weight to compress the rubber. It made tightening the hold down bracket much easier to put on since rubber was already squeezed I used a small piece of the roll of black sticky to fill the gap in the plastic bedrail covers where they meet 6-8 inches from the window end of bed.
