With all the different Switch Management Boxes, what made you decide on the Nilight vs SPOD/ Auxlight/Rough Country MLC6/Switch Pro SP9100/etc?
Sorry Auxbeam...

Price. I only cross shopped Auxbeam and it was like $20 more and came with a remote I think. Didn’t seem worth it.

I have a question regarding this, I have the Hybrid and was wondering if I can use the positive post outside the hood and not the battery itself which is located under the passenger area?

Or should I just move the switch panel near where the battery area is?

Thank you guys!

Did you ever get a chance to try the lights during a blizzard? Last winter my headlights got snow blocked and visibility was abysmal. Wondering if some lights like yours would be a good solution.

These are likely terrible in blizzard conditions due to the position and construction.

1. Position: They're so high up that it will be harder to see the road through all the flying snow. Just like how high beams give you that "Star Wars hyperspeed" visual effect in heavy snow or rain.

In fog, rain, and snow conditions, you want the light as low as possible. They should be installed in the lower grill or traditional fog light position. This video does a great job showing how the position of the lights is most important in a blizzard:

2. Construction: It probably won't get enough heat to the lens to effectively melt ice in motion. The reflectors absorb a lot of heat from the light bouncing off of them, and they'll likely hold it or transfer it back to the heatsink instead of the front lens.

You'll probably be better-off with a TIR (total internal reflection) optic, where a single piece of plastic makes both the outer lens and the reflector cup. These don't absorb as much light as a reflector style, and much of the heat they do absorb is transferred through the optic to the front lens face. They generally perform better than reflectors and happen to melt snow better. Check out Diode Dynamics and Morimoto pods (I'm biased in favor of DD).

Yes. I have a six gang switch panel mounted to the overhead console of my ‘24 XLT hybrid. The positive connection from the control box runs to the under the hood positive post. Note there are two (red and black flip back covers). You want to tie in to the post next to the one used for jumping the vehicle. There is also a line that runs from an accessory switched fuse (3 or 6) through the firewall to the control box.

PSSSST...

Fog lights are supposed to be close to the ground/bottom of the body. To cast light UNDER the fog.

Just sayin ;)

Thanks! I would have never known that without your input.

Ditch light brackets were the only thing on the market at the time.

They helped but would have been more efficient if they were lower.

looks good: unfortunately, it seems as though in the MY25, the screen is bigger & alleviates the cubby...guess I'd better start figuring out where to put the switch panel while I'm waiting for my truck
