Fog lights installed!

Saw a few threads on here inquiring about fog lights so I thought I’d share mine. I installed diode dynamics fog lights and driving lights this past weekend using jjc mounts. The lights are ss3 sport SAE approved fog lights and driving lights. I opted to not remove the entire cutout on the bumper, and only cut what was necessary to clear the lights. The yellow lights are a wide pattern with a sharp cutoff meant to light up the sides of the road close to the truck. White driving lights are meant to supplement your high beams. I ended up using switches from Cali raised led mounted in the dash cubby, wired to waterproof relays under the hood. I made the carbon fiber plate and top coated it with table top epoxy resin.

The switches are currently hanging under the steering column, haven’t decided where to mount them yet. The supplied wiring harnesses weren’t long enough so I need to extend them once I decide where to mount the switches. I’ll update once I get them mounted

Install was more difficult than I expected. On the passenger side you can remove the inner fender well and access the back of the lights to mount and adjust them. Driver side I also removed the fender liner but there’s a big computer or something In the way so you have to do everything through the small opening in the bumper. My hands are all scraped up from trying to get in there to mount the lights, but it is doable.
Mount lights from passenger fender well, estimate where they are, cut small window in bumper, once you can see where they actually sit open the hole up to your liking. I used a dremel to cut, and a file and Sandpaper to clean up the hole. The brackets come with the rubber molding.

If you decide to cut the entire window out as pictured in the jjc Etsy listing, beware there is a wiring bundle very close to the top edge.

I agree, that rubber surround looks like they went to Home Depot and bought what they found......

Have you considered remote control so you don't have to run wires inside?

yeah, I agree honestly I don’t love the rubber molding. Hopefully someone comes out with a plastic insert that matches the bumper at some point.

Have you considered remote control so you don't have to run wires inside?

Yes, decided against it because I don’t want a loose remote to control the lights. There’s a removable grommet in the firewall so it’s easy to get the wires in.
