Lariat or well spec'd XLT?

I'm getting closer to buying, and have a few questions remaining. Of course someone at a dealer could answer them, but I'm avoiding them until I have a clear idea of what I want.

I'm considering either a well kitted out XLT or a Lariat. The Lariat has a few things that I really am not inerested in (e.g. Copilot) but other than that is pretty appealing. But it's a two or three K more than an XLT with the features I want.

Finally, my questions. Are there differences in the suspension? With the 19" wheels the Lariat should ride and handle differently. Does it?

I understand the Lariat has a different widshield, which is quieter. Are there any other cabin differences?

Any other differences you'd care to mention? Thanks for any input you'd care to provide.

My 2024 AWD Lariat Ecoboost had a soul !

It was worlds away from the hybrid that in my Not so humble opinion is a great gas sipping choice but lacked a soul. The Hybrid is amazing but I did not want an appliance.

Lariat features I really really reeeeally liked were in no particular order.
The combo of the B&O sound system and the acoustic windshield,
The sound proofing package made the cabin ‘LTD’ quiet,
Key Fob remote start,
Heated seats and steering wheel,
Sliding rear window,
And the clown seats that I promptly covered up to keep them like new.

Some or most of that can be had in the XLT.

I had 18 inch wheels, plenty comfortable ride mostly due to the 121 inch wheel base. But it was a 2024. I paid $36,000
Bambi murdered my Lariat 18 months and 20,000 miles later.

These unibody Mavericks are as delicate as your Grandma’s fine China.

Then I got a 2026 Tremor.

Id personally rather save the $$ because I don’t like leather seats as much, but with these I have to admit the Lariat feels far more complete and upscale lol. Still love my XLT with lux though.

Having owned a 22 Lariat AWD and a 24 XLT, I don’t find the Lariat worth the cost difference. It’s the same vehicle with a little glitter on it. Rides no better, same drive train. XLT is just missing push button start. Even the soundshield windshield on the Lariat makes minimal difference. Both trims lack real sound deadening.

It is too late now but I do miss the 360 degree camera, ACC, and lane centering more than expected in my XLT vs my other car.

Uncertainty last year caused me to jump with my Luxury package XLT that was available without ordering. Though it was probably $8000 or so cheaper than the Lariat model I wanted.

The big one is the Adaptive Cruise control and advanced lane keeping.

New XLTs have push button, which is the only thing from the Lariat I miss (I added ACC and lane centering to my XLT).

well, if you equip the xlt and lariat out as close as possible on the build and price website, there's like a $2K difference in price. Everyone has their preferences and opinions but "I" would go with the Lariat all day long.
