Your current and long term average are pretty much the same as mine with 4,400 miles on it. But that's with 16 mile round trips at 40-60 MPH. How the OP is getting an average of 31 mpg at speeds of 85-90 mph I have no idea. I have got over 30 mpg on the Highway at 65-75 MPH but I'm at 23.1 MPG on this tank of gas. I really need to try the 90 octane non ethanol fuel which is what the OP uses IIRC and see if I get better mileage with it.Ummm, I routinely cruise at 100-110 MPH here in Germany. With a stage 1 tune and the limiter removed, it easily runs 130 or more but I rarely need to go that fast, 120 is comfortable when the traffic is light.
However, My best sustained average MPG is 25 and that was running in ECO mode for about a month and not having any fun.
My long term and current average is 23.8 to 24.2 MPG. My daily commute is around 20 miles each way, cruising as I said between 75 and 120 and normally running into traffic at some point causing speeds to reduce to around 50 or so.
Mine was lugging up a Hill on the way home from work tonight it needed to downshift but didn't.And everyone here complains about the auto tranny “lugging” and not down shifting like it’s supposed to but you? Next time I go to buy a vehicle, I want you to be with me.Everyone that owns a Maverick has had recalls!
Yeah in my 85-90 mph sweepers I bet your Lobo would be a sweet ride.I think you would really appreciate the lower center of gravity, stiffer suspension, and torque vectoring RDU on the Lobo - it is on “rails” on the twisty/turnies even with the stock tires.
But you may not like the slightly lower stance on your driveway etc![]()
saw how? the instantaneous number? that's not surprising if you are off the gas at the time. but as an average that is pretty much impossible because regardless of the engine the truck is still shaped like a truck which is to say, it has a lot of drag. Here is the part you guys will call Bullshit on,
Twice I saw my mpg’s climb above 31 while I was doing 85-90.
several times I drove my 2025 hybrid well over 100miles/hour and it did very wellLove the Italian Tune-Up! Good way to clear things out once in a while. Plus, love to feel that ecoBOOST. The Mav is no slouch!
Another think I believe to be true.I am just so curious (not doubting you) why you are the only one on the MTC that has Never had a problem whatsoever with anything on your Mav when ALL the rest of had at least something, albeit big or small happen that irritates us. You must be one lucky SOB!![]()
So a few of you are saying you never even had the “Maverick wide” dreaded camera recall? WOW!Half way thru my holiday run from MA to SC. Just shy of 1000 mile jont to get here and 15.5 hours. Will do the reverse on Sat. Averaged 28.2 on the down running at appx 8 mpg above the posted speed limit. Have had for 15 months and hit 20,000 on the way here. No recalls, no service other than the works service with full synthetic oil. Snow tires go back on this comming Monday in anticipation of my runs to northern Maine pulling a 2 place hybred trailer. Love the Mav.... Does everything I needed it for and then some.
2024 Lariat 2.0L Ecoboost ... NO RECALLS FOR ME, EITHER! I'm enjoying the ride along with a 2024 Edge SEL AWD 2.0L Ecoboost. Both vehicles are great with no issues! And everyone here complains about the auto tranny “lugging” and not down shifting like it’s supposed to but you? Next time I go to buy a vehicle, I want you to be with me.Everyone that owns a Maverick has had recalls!
Lariats were not part of the camera recall as they have sync 3.So a few of you are saying you never even had the “Maverick wide” dreaded camera recall? WOW!
OH ... I guess I dodged another bullet!Lariats were not part of the camera recall as they have sync 3.
I really miss my stick shift! Up until 2000 I about half the vehicles I had were sticks. The first car I had was a 3-speed with the worst clutch and transmission ever made, a 63 Comet 6-cylinder! I limped home with no clutch a couple of times.Back in the day, sports cars all had stick shift.
Easy to do Italian tune ups.
Get on the Super Slab and leave it in third gear, or second.
Then punch it.
It was the only way to keep a big Cleveland block running right If you mostly did inner city driving or grandma going to church stuff.
And I bet the exhaust blew out big clouds of carbon dust!!Last time I can remember Italian tune ups was my neighbor Patrick and his grandmother's 1980s Grand Ma's Keys (Marquis). The old gal never drove it anywhere except church and the grocery store. So Pat and his Dad would take that car out on the state highway a few times a year and bury the needle on the speedometer.
The other would be early Northstar V8s (before everyone figured out that they had head bolt issues). The throttle bodies would get gummed up because Memaw and Pawpaw wouldn't drive them hard enough. The local shadetree mechanics would put fuel system cleaners in the tank and drive them like they stole them to clean it up.
