So I am at 20K miles, 2024 XLT Hybrid

1. So far I have just changed my engine and cabin air filters. Will using a K&N engine air filter actually void my warranty?
2. I am not getting near the average mileage that is advertised.
  1. Should I check spark plug gap?
  2. Should I clean the MAF, will this void the warranty?
  3. Should I clean the MAP, will this void the warranty?
  4. Should I clear the driver memory log, and can I do it the old way of taking off the positive terminal waiting 25 minutes, turn on the key to start and leave on for 15 minutes, or will this work on a hybrid, will this void the warranty?
  5. Should I clean the intake of carbon? Will this void the warranty?
  6. How can I do the "Italian Tune Up"? I read that you need to get your engine to 2000-3000 RPM for about a 20 mile drive. How can I get higher RPMS? Put it in trailer mode?
3. Would driving without traction control give more or less miles?
4. I purchased the extended warranty, the suspension behind all 4 tires are burnt orange rusty, I will be taking my truck in for the latest recall, is it part of the warranty for them to fix the rust issue?
5. Will increasing my tire pressure help with milage?
6. Should I get a transmission flush and new filter at this milage?

Any suggestions other than the ones listed would be appreciated!

PS I changed my cabin air filter with a carbon one today, It looks like they forgot to put the arm that you are suppose to unclip on the lower right side of the glove box, or did they just discontinue it after 2023?

Probably has more to do with how you drive it rather than any mechanical in deficiencies. There can be a pretty big spread in mileage depending on how you drive it, extreme weather conditions don't help either or any vehicle. I would just follow the maintenance schedule. I don't see where the k&n filter would offer you any benefit even if they did offer benefit for an ICE engine. Most of the torque and acceleration comes out of the electric motor, It's really not the same type of old school. Thinking of my engine has to breathe... Plus using anything but stock just gives a dealership somewhere. A reason not to honor a warranty for something between the air box and the crankcase. I would be careful about pulling a battery cable off to do some maintenance. If you look at the 12-volt battery replacement procedure, there's some warnings about not removing the battery for a couple minutes after you shut it off so that the computer can write tables. And then when you replace the battery you're supposed to go through a calibration procedure so it understands It's working with a new battery.

Don't do any of that stuff! Waste of time or money.
K&N is a worse filter than your paper one and a hassle to maintain, IMHO.
You have an Atkinson cycle engine so an "Italian" tune up is quite impossible, again IMHO.

Spark plugs don't need to be checked at 20K unless you have a problem. See the manual for their change interval.

Higher tire pressure within reason will help mileage a little, but at the risk of poorer ride and handling and increased tire wear in the center of the tread.

See the manual for your eCVT maintaince interval, it is not a transmission that you would flush.

All of these questions have been addressed in many different posts, I would read more current and back posts on this forum for background and understanding.

The missing glove box arm, seems to have come and gone. It is available from Ford if you want to add it.

Not sure how old other vehicles are that you've done things on in the past - but this isn't those.

1 - no, but not that great.
2 -
1. Could - just in case they are wrong. Times of tranny not filled, so it's possible not right.
2. you'd get a warning when the computer couldn't adjust enough. Not this early unless you took air filter out.
3. no
4. wrong tranny for hybrid - no shifts points to build a table for based on your driving.
5. clean what - this isn't GDI - they are getting cleaned during use.
6. That's not correct anyway, and you can't force RPMs. You get on highway? Punch it. Done.

3 - meaningless, you are FWD only anyway, TC only comes into play when needed.
4 - not an issue. Look, you'll see more too. it's purposeful surface-only rust, unlike sheet metal.
5 - Up to a point - get 40 psi cold morning if you don't mind the harsh ride.
6 - No - not a friction tranny at all. again, check levels, but that's not about mpg anyway, not your normal tranny.

Suggestion: Drive different.
Or move to where not so flat. Rolling hills actually beneficial.

The actual useful info you didn't share.
What are your driving scenarios?
What is your mileage?
How are you getting that figure?
