Doesn't sound normal.... not acceptable! Likely not a big problem... but something is rattling against something else and should be secured or dampened.

Something from the engine bay. Accelerating, pressing the gas pedal seems to kill the noise.

Sounds like a chain (doesn't sound like a belt) could be a little loose, common to notice something like that while idling. Either that or some kind of electric actuator is working overtime.

I think its just the injectors, they are supposed to sound like a sewing machine and are a bit noisy at start.

GDI is very loud. It is normal.

I'd talk to the dealer since it's hard for anyone to know without having something to compare it to. The injectors are said to be pretty noisy but you just can't tell from the clip. The microphone picks up different things than your ear.

Yes, yes you can tell from the clip.... It's the GDI system working normally. Every one of these 2.0's does this,. Esp in colder weather.

It's perfectly normal, it's the injectors and the lack of an engine cover and sound deadening in the hood to cover up the noise. I have another direct-injection car and it sounds like my Maverick if I open the hood while running.

My Ford Maverick XLT ecoboost does the same noise. It goes away when engine gets hot. Its bothering anyways and I dont like. Dont sound normal. I am dissapointed after waiting 5 months for the delivery.

As others said-normal for a direct injection engine. Mine is the same way. These trucks have no sound proofing under the hood which is why your hear it more.

Mine do the same noise when started in the morning or after a good period off, after a couple of minutes once the motor gets warmer the sound decrease.
