4K tow package also effects MPG, Normal for my Mav with only 2.6K on the meter averages 28MPG

Just did a round trip to Maine: 2.0 Ecoboost with ~12,300 miles on it, eight (8) months old, XL, 2WD. Achieved as high as 38 m.p.g., trip averaged 36.2 m.p.g. Truck has averaged 31.3 m.p.g. since purchased, always driven in ECO mode.
Hes a 2.0L Ecoboost 2WD. Not a AWD 4K tow. Seems legit. As If 4K tow it has lower gearing and more moving components. I use 93 or 95 Octane in my 4K tow FX4.What octane gas are you using?
It's the 4K tow package that hurts us. It has shorter gears. Meaning we drive with higher RPM. The 2WD Ecos can get GREAT mileage with no PTU, No Extra Drive shaft and Taller gears. Just be happy that your cooling your tranny. The air cooled trans will be hurt faster than ours. I got the 4K tow just for the extra cooling. Larger Radiator, Trans Cooler and Bigger Fan.I have never averaged 31.9 for a whole tank, but I've had some trips on 2 lane highways around 65-70 and gotten near that.
Lifetime for my truck on the Michelins was 26.2. Then I did some light towing, trips with 3 bikes on a hitch rack at interstate speeds, and tuned my truck. My new norm is 22, lol.
You must have a FWD Ecoboost without AWD and 4K towing.
I put a soft roll up tonneau on mine, and the onboard cpu clocks at about 38 mpg on the highway. Was seeing about 32 prior to install. '24 awd fx4 with 4k tow package.
I drive 40 miles each way to work at 80 - 85 mph (yes I speed; but traffic is flowing) I get 26.8 consistently. I am still impressed. It's the in City miles; that kills me.I put a soft roll up tonneau on mine, and the onboard cpu clocks at about 38 mpg on the highway. Was seeing about 32 prior to install.
