I installed the tail gate assist in less than 10 minutes. I also installed the hood assist system in about20 minutes. They really make life easier and I think aid we older folks. I got them from DEEZEELooking for input on is it worth having the strut assists for the tailgate and the hood. Seems plausible, but not really necessary, just like Door Window Deflectors.
> Ford Accessory: Tailgate Assist is on eternal backorder and DeeZee does not list it (haha, like DUH!)

> MRT has hood struts for $138 (standard black finish), or $198 for color (+$60 more)

Just wondering ....... Your thoughts?
My SnapOn set has that size. I'm good.If you buy the DeeZee Assist, you'll most likely need to buy a TR 50 socket, most toolboxes don't have it..
I ran out to Home Depot and grabbed one for $4
The TR30 is also used and is probably in everyone's bit kit.
Not going to lie, that bottom plate took me a while to get on right.
Hood no way, Tailgate yesLooking for input on is it worth having the strut assists for the tailgate and the hood. Seems plausible, but not really necessary, just like Door Window Deflectors.

Makes you drink a little less, because you lose one of your bottle openers. Both issues I say screen rant style:
it's gonna be Super Easy, Barely an Inconvenience!!
Seriously what problem do either of those pricey hunks of extra weight solve. Small lightweight hood and barely there tailgate.
I waited 2 1/2 months before getting the tailgate assist. Manual lowering was fine, not a chore by any means, but the assist is nice to have. With the assist I can have stuff in my hands or be packing up my gear while the tailgate drops. Sometimes I have to park in places where there isn't room to stand behind the tailgate when it's open, which is kind of awkward for manual lowering, so it's helpful for that. For me it's more about efficiency, rather effort. I still catch myself holding it while it drops sometimes, because I forget that I put the assist on.Both issues I say screen rant style:
