I just read this article rating the top ten hybrid CARS on the market that cost less than 30k. Yup, Maverick is in the top ten and in pretty good company. Hey, it drives like a car, gets great mileage, and is a truck when you need it. Versatility; Hard to beat!!!

The Maverick reminds me of a Subaru Brat, Baja or a Ford Explorer Sport Trac. A small market segment in the past that seems to be hot now. Probably has more to do with the rarity of cars being made versus pickups, SUV's and minivans.
It works so well as both car and truck.

It is a TRUCK, but just re-defines the market - affordable, economical to drive, roomy, easy to park, great ride, and the list goes on. I do not see what makes people think this a CAR. Yes, a Santa Claus looks like an ugly car, but not the Maverick. No wonder they cannot build enough and people cannot find them.

Pickup Utility Vehicle. No, it does not handle well like a zippy little Mazda car around town. It aint a car. Nor is it a truck. No chance it's a truck. I was at "Trick Trucks" recently looking at caps. I have confirmed that the Maverick is not a truck. It's a unibody, compact SUV with a bed. I wanted a Forester or RAV4 but instead chose the Mav due to the value and cargo space.

Ford ranger drop in liner ( $25 Craigslist)cut to fit maverick . used jig saw to cut . not perfect but does the job . used extra material to cover tailgate . made previous post on it .
