To the OP Make sure they are not doing what is called double dipping. Some crooked dealers will add a SECOND destination Fee. If its ONE fee on the sticker then no it is part of the price.
Help me understand what you are saying. My window sticker shows MSRP and below that is the destination and delivery fee.. Seems pretty straight forward to me.

And then below that, at the bottom, is the TOTAL MSRP. That's the price before any dealer fees, taxes, etc.

Ok I just looked at the mock up and I see a $999 processing fee as well. Jeez they may not make a dime on the truck but a couple grand on accessories and dealer fees they are certainly making a profit. I have no problem with them making a profit.....I mean thats the whole idea right.

I will be signing paperwork in the next day or two. I paid over MSRP which I am ok with but there is also a $1500 destination fee.....I believe that is how it is labeled on the invoice. I have read about making them stick to MSRP and no add on fees.....I totally get that but I have zero patience and need a vehicle right now. So the question stands.....is there a way around this fee or suck it up if you want your truck?
It sucks but that's the norm. I've purchased 3 other new cars and had to paid that stupid fee...EVEN thought they were sitting on the lot. The Maverick is the only one I've actually ordered.

Some dealers will put a second delivery fee not on the sticker itself. But in the finance department. They will gloss right over it and the customer will think he is talking about the one on the sticker. I have heard about it on youtube . I DOUBT that is what is happening here BUT just wanted to make sure as a warning.

My Chapman Ford Maverick is currently being built with the window sticker available now. Even though I ordered this last July I will be paying the current destination charge I am sure....$1595. I didn't know that the truck order had even gone through (Chapman - no money down) until I saw a note from FMC about it two months ago. MSRP is just under 40 but my original Chapman emails said 3% under invoice and dealer fee added - which is now $449 in PA state. NYS 8.125 tax rate and plates added on still. The one thing I did not get was the Co-Pilot 360 Assist which I should have but I guess I will have to live with it. Not sure how much the 3% under invoice will bring down the MSRP pricing.

I had ordered a second truck from another dealer since Chapman told me they may not be able to fill my order back in July. I am still trying to get that order cancelled and money refunded ($500) but I haven't received a response. Since I think that order was placed in Dec 22 I think the order banks were closed so I see no reason for why I shouldn't be able to get a refund. I don't think the Maverick order banks have been opened between last Dec and now---have they????

I guess I should follow up with my original post..........bottom line is that I paid 4k over MSRP plus plus plus and it stung a little but there is a truck in my garage that I can drive until Mr recall comes to town. I paid the approx $1500 destination fee.....and a $999 processing fee......and tax tag title fee's. But I got a free bottle of water while I was there!!!! I might go back and get a few more.....each bottle of water costs $1.50.....so if I keep going up there every day for 2 years I can get that processing fee back in water!!!!

I paid msrp which includes the destination fee and then my dealer charged $500 fee and that was it. Other fees- sales tax, title fees, etc. will be collected by the dealers in Missouri in the future but for now I paid it at the license office.
The destination fee is shown separately as in at least some states it is not subject to sales tax.

Again, Destination is a seperate line item on the window sticker but ultimately bundled into the final total MSRP. You didn't pay 'over MSRP' when Destination was included, and you didn't pay 'over MSRP' if taxes and tags were included as they are required by the state, you paid MSRP plus required state taxes and tag fees. . Your $999 doc fee is high, let me guess, Ourisman in Alexandria? Virginia tends to have some of the highest doc fees as they aren't (as) regulated like some states.

Good luck with your truck!

.

I dont want to mention the dealer because I have no issue with the dealer. To answer your question....I paid over MSRP because I actually did pay 4k over msrp which was the market adjustment. The other fee's we have discussed.

It will be delivered from the plant to your dealer, why would you think you wouldn't pay that? The rail lines and transportation companies negotiate those flat deliver fees for each model and they want their money.

No problem with paying for that was just not sure if it was already included in the price of the vehicle.

I'm not sure why the Maverick destination charge is so high compared to others but it may be because the plant is 150 miles south of the border in Mexico which may add additional fees to the transporting costs. You can get vehicles the same size from Asia and Japan and they are cheaper to transport here than from Mexico....makes no sense.
