Has anyone else had serious issues with the paint on these trucks mine just hit 15k and looks like it's been to hell and back it's not like I go on dirt roads maybe once every month or 2, and a lot of them are in weird spots like the top of the rear wheel well and only in the back wheel wells none in the front wheel wells

Go to the dealer and get a tube of touchup paint, comes with both oem matched paint and clear coat as well. Cost is usually 20-25 depending on dealership.

With patience and a little time those can be blended in by you, to not even know or notice they were ever there. In the one year I've had my Maverick I've probably touched up a total of 10 small rock chips on the front end. You wouldn't even notice now as after the paint dries I wet sand and polish which blends in the chip perfectly with the paint.

My 25 is littered with rock chips. I only have 8800 miles on it.

Not sure if due to windshield being more loud, or body metal more thin - but after a windshield ding was fixed, I've been listening harder to things like that.

Anyway, I've been shocked how many rocks are being thrown up by other vehicles around me.
My windshield ding was from a car braking just like me from 30 to a red light. We had to be at 5 mph right then.

And I've heard my metal hit too.
I don't think you need a back gravel road or your truck.
It's the construction debris out on roads grabbed and thrown later by others.

Every time I'm about to pass a semi on the highway now in the multiple lanes available - if it swerves towards the line I'm sure I'm getting some windshield sounds and I usually do.
You'd think people crossing the lane lines all the time would clean them out, nope semi finds something.

Road trip in Rav4 last summer - same thing, just more aggressive tires out there I guess, grabbing and throwing.

Avoid the following of flatbeds, closer than about 10 of their lengths. They get all sorts of shit embedded in the decking and it shakes out all day.

Box semis, and big RVs are bad when you've got strong driver side crosswinds, the trailer will keep wandering over to the right and finding stuff to kick up on the edge of the lane.

My MY2024 Lariat HPR was loaded with chips. A few untimely motorcycle hit n runs and vandalism resulted in us re-painting 90% of the truck (not the hood, nor roof). After the repairs, we took that opportunity to lay on 4 coats of color and 4 coats of clear on that 90%. A tiny chip in the edge of the hood was repaired (touched up) and the entire hood and roof also received 4 coats of clear (no color, just clear). Followed up a month later with ceramic coating. Not seeing any new rock chips...

The paint on the Fords is on the thin side...

Do you have a gravel driveway by chance? I have noticed on mine the Michelins that came on it catches gravel really badly and then slings it off when at speed.
It's mostly dirt not much gravel and its probably only 3 car lengths long

Must be after doing some research I'm definitely not the only one with these issues

Eco paint. There are some chips but not too crazy. I just touch them every 6 months and forget about it. This is a miles car, not an 84 GMC lifetime pickup.

No definitely not I think I'm going to trade it in on a good condition obs when I get a decent chunk paid off or when warranty runs out I don't see this truck lasting long term even though I really like it

My warranty is 8yr/125k premium care and I'll use all those miles. So I do drive quite a bit. Sounds like you don't.

The front bumper cover on my truck also doesn't look too great, and I take great care of the whole truck. Ford paint is really thin now.

The 2017 Focus ST I had was the same way, so I suspect Ford paint has been like this for a while now. The finish on that car's bumper cover got so bad I almost considered buzzing it down and repainting it myself before selling.

It is not only Ford. I am having the same issues on my (now my daughters) 2018 VW Passat. That paint is very thin as well. Guess it is part of the cost cutting by all manufacturers.
