Yo I’ll be honest the iHeart radio app is probably the issue, it disconnects and randomly stops playing for me all the time wether I’m in my truck driving around or my wife’s vehicle or it’s just playing on my speaker at homeOk, my Wife has had her Maverick since Dec 23rd and between the known screen freeze issues she also has issues when she is using I Heart Radio, at times the phone doesn’t connect (in general), other times it connects but doesn’t play, then it suddenly plays, then it doesn’t play. Plus she’ll be driving with it working then suddenly stops working, etc. I’ve updated the Software (through home internet) anyone know if Ford is aware of this known issue and have they fixed it with an update? Our local dealers aren’t aware of any fixes yet. She also has other general issues with the screen too. Hello Ford, she loves the truck but hates the issues. Ford Let’s step up to the plate on this one, soon.
I’ve had my MAV for a little over a year now and in my experience the connections are just weak IMO there’s so much vibration and any slight disturbance even touching the cable will make it stop playing anything. Driving here’s what normally happens. I’m driving just minding my own business *small bump on highway* stops playing and my instinct automatically is just mess with the head of the cable every time and it works again. After that I get in my car after parking and just doing whatever I needed to do. I connect the cable again. Start driving 5 mins go by it still hasn’t connected *switches to radio*. This has happened almost on a weekly basis at least once. Phone calls what are those I can’t answer those at all on mine it just cuts off my music no call sound even comes out it shows on my dash it shows on the CarPlay but it will never never let me talk thru the car I have to unplug my phone to talk(very unsafe don’t do!!!)Can’t also forget the instances where it will connect show the CarPlay screen on the infotainment display, and then proceed to play through my phone instead. Then I have to do the reset for the infotainment system (hold power button and scrub forward at same time for like 5ish seconds) this has been an issue for awhile and I’m having it looked at by ford in June when I go for the airbag recall( yeah they haven’t had parts and I just haven’t had time to get to it IKIK). That’s my experience with the infotainment so far it works and then it doesn’t.Ok, my Wife has had her Maverick since Dec 23rd and between the known screen freeze issues she also has issues when she is using I Heart Radio, at times the phone doesn’t connect (in general), other times it connects but doesn’t play, then it suddenly plays, then it doesn’t play.
