I have had my LOBO ~ 3 months, no issues. My iphone wants to install IOS 18.6. I am asking if anyone has had issues with carplay running IOS 18.6

I have problems with incoming calls on Bluetooth, the call goes to my phone and not the car. I thought it was a car problem and recently rented a car and had the same problem. So far Apple doesn’t know what the problem is. Very frustrating. Outgoing calls work great and the way they should.

Still on 18.6. Went into dealer to try and resolve usb connection issue without success. Dealer said since my Iphone Carplay works on other cars with no problems it is probably a Sync 3 issue. He connected his Android phone which works as expected. But he could not help me so I will have to use Bluetooth with no Apple Carplay. No maps and hope someday a software update from Ford will fix the problem. Someday. So not sure why it worked for a 1-1/2 years and then nothing.

Have you tried using a different USB c cable? Even if it did work they can go bad. I would try another cable.

I purchased 2 new USB c cables from the Apple store. They did not work either. But all my new and existing usb cables and Apple Carplay work in both my 2018 Q5 and a 2024 Q5 loaner. So short of buying a new $1000 Iphone I am stuck.

If your phone and cables work in other vehicles, then a new “$1000 phone” isn’t the solution anyway.

This isn’t happening across the board with thousands of iPhone users in Lariats, but it sure sounds like something has glitched in your truck somewhere. I’m (mildly) surprised the dealer isn’t doing more to try and fix it.

I bit the bullet and am on the iOS 26 beta. It’s pretty awesome but not all functionality is there yet.

Running 18.6 and taking my 2024 back to the dealer again. My phone will only connect via Bluetooth again. So no maps. Dealer claimed to fix it a month ago but usb died again several weeks ago. Message is "The inserted USB device is not responding" The dealer said they used an Android phone and USB worked. I have replaced the USB cable and tried my IPhone in 2 other vehicles and have no problems there. So back to the dealer on Thursday.

MY PHONE DOES THIS TOO on my truck dealer suggested i try a friends phone which i did and it still does this dealer drove with it for hours apparently and still same issue no remedy for me yet except for a amazon wireless carplay adapter

As it turned out the issue was my I Phone. It was an IPhone 10 and I tried using my wife's IPhone 16 and everything worked. Bought a newer Iphone and all is well.

Upgraded to IOS 26. Didn’t even mess with IOS18.6
