A battery drained is more than a little different than a low battery that so many experience.
Obviously a low battery has less to drop to become drained.
But a low battery doesn't mean you have a drained battery coming, nor the intermittent condition they are aware of but can't figure out.

That's why they test the drained battery after a full charge - to see if it's bad, which a full drain can do.
Fortunately an under charged, constantly low charged battery can test bad too eventually - so well worth telling them to test even if not a drained dead battery yet.

That SSM calls out a software solution for that condition.
Condition of a drained battery by an intermittent drain.

They know full well there needs to be micro-draws on the battery after ignition off, and there is an expected level on them. And after 14 days of no driving they know bad idea to keep the draws going so deep sleep mode is started.

This is some other issue beside expected micro-draws, some parasitic drain probably that is not as low but infrequent.

They will probably just change the programming for deep sleep mode, instead of only 3 qualifiers - 14 days non-started, <50% SOC, or reaching 9.5 V, they'll probably add "if draw is more than 0.34V after 2-3 hrs, deep sleep mode, throw a code".

I would not be surprised if there is no change to the charging algorithm.
Only a way to stop an intermittent issue from a module they can't track down.

I really think your case needs to be searched down, not wait for a solution to just turn stuff off.
I think your dealer is relying on this instead of some time-sucking investigation they are likely afraid of getting paid for under warranty. Sad that they might be able to provide some great insight to Ford if allowed and experienced.

ETA:
Found the deep sleep values and corrected volts above.

Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode message is expected if the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SoC) drops below 50%.

Mine just started this issue and I have also noted that when the interior lights do not come on when the door is opened, the keyless entry on the passenger side is also inop. Just had mine serviced and Ford said battery tested fine. Don't figure. Just an observation and not a complaint, I still love my truck.

My "24 XLT Hybrid has also started to exhibit this annoying behavior of no courtesy lights on a door being opened. Very disappointed at times with this truck.

I just bought another battery but this time an AGM battery from Amazon. Thankfully Advance Auto gave me a refund on my year old Gold battery which had a 3 year warranty. It lasted about 9 to 10 months and the had the same issue as the original Ford battery which lasted almost one year before exhibiting the same "no interior light" syndrome. We ordered the one on Amazon which others here mention. A friend had the same issue and replaced his battery the same time as mine but his brand new battery after several days went completely dead so went to a local Ford dealer who only had the OEM flooded battery because he had to get his vehicle running. He contacted the 3rd party company who advertises and sells on Amazon but no contact. Won't be buying any more batteries through Amazon. .

For those who don't want to buy their batteries over the internet and I don't blame them.
And for those who prefer to stay with original motorcraft parts.

Good news is Ford does actually have an AGM H4 Battery that fits our Mavericks.
Bad news they are showing out of stock.

Myself, I am waiting for Walmart to sell in the store. EverStart Platinum AGM H4 battery with a four-year warranty.

So what did the dealer do about your non-working passenger door unlock and the light?

Myself, I am hoping Walmart EverStart batteries come out with a Platinum AGM H4 battery with a four-year warranty.
Of course they are out of stock :crackup:

I brought my Maverick in for it's regular service and Recall update. I let them know about the light/lock issues and when it was returned, I was told the battery was good and the update took care of the issue. It lasted about a week and it seems intermittent and happens on the weeks I don't drive it much. I have a Mach E and two old Mustangs and try to drive them somewhat regularly as well.

My interior lights and lights that come on when the door opens don't after 4-5 days of no use . supposedly a software safety function to save the battery according to others on this site . I find it annoying and poor quality of battery by ford . Just enough battery to last until 3 year warranty is over imo .

How long does the truck sit between being driven?
Do you have a volt meter? Did you ever read what voltage the batter was at?

I have a 22 Maverick EcoBoost and after 2 years of this nonsense, I bought an AGM Interstate battery from Costco.. I have been a happy camper since I did this.

Hello Maverick friends, I probably have read all the posts here about this subject but want to share my accumulated experiences and tests I have done.

I have a 2022 Maverick Lariat Hybrid, which I really like. I have a wonderful Ford Dealership where I purchased the Maverick and they have already done 6 or 7 recall/updates. But!, this is my on going problem: Truck interior lights worked fine for around one year and then developed the problem of at times no interior lights. After reading much here on the form one post mentioned they replaced the battery with the specific Die Hard Gold Battery for the Ford Maverick. I installed it ($212.00-ouch!) and did the reset of the BMS and left the truck sit unused for 8 hours and all went well. For the next 9 months it worked perfectly and thought all was well but not so and started the same problem over again. I purchased a new battery charger to replace my older model (this time $65.00 ouch!)recommended for vehicles with a lot of electronics and have recharged several times but after each time and within a week or 2 repeated the same problem. Over the past several days the light has not been coming on again so this morning I put the charger on the same way (In the engine compartment-terminals) and after a very short while it said it was fully charged so I checked and the battery read 12.8 volts (Hi quality Fluke meter) which is fine, but still no interior lights coming on. I want to mention I have a friend who purchased a 2022 Maverick XLT and we have replaced his battery and after some months now doing the same. As much as my friend and I like our Mavericks it takes some of the luster off the purchase. Hope this may be informative.
I have the same interior lights problem + my passenger door handle lock sensor was not working. My dealer REPLACED the passenger door handle sensor NOW I'm told the interior lights are working as they should.

Well - they are working as they should.

When the battery voltage goes too low.

There is a battery saver function that turns off battery draws sooner and sooner.

Tell them to time how long the lights stay on.
Charge the battery up.
Then time it again.

Then they can see where the immediate issue is. But don't expect anything until the SOH is really low and they perhaps discover a problem cell or two in the battery.

But after they've charged it up - they can test with their serious tester!

I have the exact same problem as most of you. I have a 22 hybrid, and the interior lights do not come on when I open the doors when the car has not run for just a matter of hours. If I come home and park in the lit garage and open the door, the lights come on fine (when I do not need them). The passenger side door handle will not unlock the doors or put on any lights. This after the dealer already has replaced that sensor. They already replaced the battery at least once too. Do not know what kind was put in. The truck is driven regularly, some freeway, and with only a day or two of non-use in a week. Most frustrating because the truck is parked in total darkness when I park at my workshop, and it would be nice and expected to have lights come on. I suppose I could remote start it, but that is ridiculous just to get some lights. About 24K miles on it and love it, but this is bugging me now in the winter. No codes that I can see. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue actually fixed and staying fixed....

Undercharged battery that eventually dies?

No - there is no remedy, and from the sounds of it - never will be.

Driven regularly?
Does that mean at least over 1 hr daily on avg, more at other times?
Just curious.
Oh - freeway doesn't matter - purely time.
The system is basically a battery charger - except 5A or less it seems, and goes to float charge rather quickly, and may not have a good read on current battery state for how much charge to apply.
And if you have a parasitic battery draw, or have the known AC module draw - even worse.

If you still have 3 / 36k warranty - you may get a better AGM out of a warranty check.
If no warranty (extended doesn't take care of it either) - get your own AGM H4 battery - Walmart has an Everstart that has a good reputation in tests.

So even the remote doors unlock doesn't turn on the bed lights for a bit?
