I don't know if I changed something when messing with settings (don't think I did,) but my interior lights are not coming on when doors are opened. I think I may have noticed it once or twice the past few weeks, but wasn't sure. Now they are for sure not coming on. They do come on manually with the switch on the upper console. They do NOT come on when I unlock the truck with the key fob, but they do come on when I put the key in and start it.

Any ideas?

Sounds like your truck is going into the battery saving mode.
Added: check your 12v battery voltage and charge if needed or take to dealer if still in warranty.

Have you had all the recalls, SSMs and CSVs applied? I believe there have been 10 recalls alone on the 22 models, a few of which affect the well-known 12V battery issues. These fixes should be free from Ford.

The broken BMS software is not letting the 12V battery charge past about 70%, causing it to sulphate and fail really early in its life. That's the most visible sign that your battery is failing.

I assume that you are now out of the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty, so measure the voltage and get yourself a new one if its below about 12V. The Ford T4 one is overpriced.

The other known problems on the 22s are a bad cable from the battery and a bad connector inside the main fusebox. There are recalls for these fixes, so they are free to you.

Talk to your Ford dealer and see if you can get the new software module fixes on Ford's dime. I just had my 23 done and it was almost 4hrs labour to do the updates. In my case, they confirmed that I had already had SSM53801 applied to fix the unintended A/C battery usage, and then they spent almost 4hrs updating just about every software module on my 23 - the BECM, BCM, PCM, SOBDMC and TCU modules, and reset the BMS. Presumabl7y all of these updates were to fix the battery management issues...

Welcome to the club. Mine has been doing that off and on for 2 years. It still starts and the interior lights will work for a while after a long drive but then fail to work if the truck has been sitting for a few days. On the plus side, it also disables the auto start/stop feature. 😬

As mentioned by another member of this forum, yout truck is in battery saving mode. Nothing to worry about. When you start the truck, the lights will go on in the cab. My hybrid Lariat is going on 4 years old with the original battery, and has been doing this for as long as I've owned it.

It is a little trick Hector and his friends at the Mexican factory played on the gringo's that buy Mavericks

My '23 XLT was doing this when I bought it last month. I took it to a dealer (Dobbs Ford, Birmingham. AL) and they traced it to a dead cell in the starter battery, which they replaced under warranty. Problem solved.

If you aren't under warranty and get the recalls done first get the larger 470 CCA battery to replace the factory 390 CCA. I'm on my third battery from the dealer and this one seems to be holding up. That is, so far. Mine started off like yours until I had to manually open door with a key and eventually jump starting. Ford won't replace your battery until it is below 36% capacity at 100% charge. Basically a sulfated battery / dead worn out.

Pete,
The starter battery or 12V battery?
There is a difference on a hybrid.

I presumed the one that starts the engine, not the actual 'drive' battery (my terms--I plead massive ignorance)
Pete,
The actual drive battery IS the one that starts the engine on the hybrid Maverick.
The 12 volt kind of initializes the electronics.
The three phase AC unit is also run off of the drive battery and not the engine using belts.

Like others have said, your truck is going into sleep mode. If you put the Ford app on your phone, it will tell you every time it does that. The same thing happens to alot of us, mostly hybrid owners. I got the message for 2 yrs, almost every day. I finally went to ford and got a new battery under warranty. That was about 5 months ago, and no sleep mode issue since.

The dome light not coming on when you open the door is the early warning to let you know to charge your battery. It does this in case you do not have the app active for you to get the message that way. The lights are not turned on when your battery gets below 11.8-11.9 volts.
