Fuel door open - false notification on Hybrid XLT

it's the 3rd time i got this message since my 2 weeks of ownership.
nothing wrong visually with the fuel door, it's closed flush and tight.

anyone else experiencing the same situation?

Yes, this happened to me, this past Monday, driving on the highway. It went away after a few seconds. Definitely have to keep an eye on that.

Since I posted in feb. , the problem haven't show again.... I guess it came back to its senses lolll
but the radio restart once while I was driving.
This car is full of surprises loll

I'd also ensure that the edge of the fuel door opening and the rubber gasket on the fuel door itself area clean of any road salt/sand buildup. They're part of the evaporative sealing mechanisms.

Good Point.
Dealer washed the car prior to the delivery and it was super cold during those days. my tailgate lever mechanism were also frozen for several days.
Like you said, high humidity from washing (I guess they didn't dry the car before putting it back outside) and cold temperature could be cause in my case.

I guess it depends on if there is actually a fuel door switch not making contact for whatever reason (out of adjustment, ice buildup, otherwise faulty) or the EVAP system is detecting a small leak and hedging that it's an open fuel door before setting a full leak fault code.

Happened to me today. I put gas 5 days ago.

Happened once to me as well, day after fill up. Checked that door was closed and it went away after about half an hour on its own.

weekly?! that's really bad. maybe talk to your dealership and ask them to give you a firmware update/refresh.
