You do not want to do the BMS update unless you have fully charged the battery. Otherwise it will learn the state of charge it currently happens to be at and "think" that State of Charge level is a full charge. You should attach a charger to the charge points under the hood, and watch the charger until it shows 100%. It is only at that point that you should do the BMS update with the flashing of the headlights etc. as per the manual. Then leaving the vehicle off and locked for more than 8 hours.Okay here is what worked for me. I have a 24 XL Hybrid. Same issue, interior lights not coming on when I opened the door. I went to the dealer with the problem, they said they never heard of this problem (no surprise there). They wanted me to leave it for a "full diagnostic". I wouldn't be able to wait they'd need it overnight. I asked if disabling all connectivity settings might help. The service guy said "no way". I then had a suspicion that this was the answer. I tested the battery, it was fine.
I disabled all the infotainment screen connectivity settings. I reset the BMS (very simple) and now all is perfect. I really didn't want or use their connectivity stuff so no problem disabling these useless things. Try this and use your car for transportation and not as a mobile pc. You may be pleasantly surprised.
