My doors don't always shut tight either, but that is because of the air tight seal in the cab I think. My wife never shuts them hard enough to get them closed all the time, but I'm talking from the outside of the vehicle not from pulling on the handles.
Yes, I remember now it required more force to close the maverick lariat with brand new door seals than it did on my 12 year old Honda CR-V with old road noise leaking door seals!!!!🤔👍👍

Been driving the Maverick a lot lately delivering griceries for Wal Mart which requires a lot of getting in and out. I find I get the Door ajar message a lot. Not really digging the door handles. Not sure why they cut them off. Awkward to grab and the leverage to close seems off.
I agree - I find it awkward too. It was designed by 30-somethings to hold quart bottles in the door so they needed the clearance. I would prefer an old style closed pull.

The textured grooves are good for gripping. You could probably find something rubberized to fit over the grooves if it would help. It's also further back on the door (if that is better?)

You're art needs to go back to its roots I think.

Wedge in this tool with the business end down into the cup holder?
That would add a couple more options for grab handles as well? Plus accessories and more orange.

wow I would have bet those 4 bolts were just for looks.
I cant wait to see what some one with an XL mounts to them. LOL
Hand sanitizer dispenser could also be added.
I was thinking of adding an additional handle but I've gotten used to it. Yeah, good for me
Aaarrrggghhh!!! This thread has now gotten to the point that maybe we need to select a new "handle" to respond!😂

When you grab this point it really does feel like it was made to be a grab point to close the door if only it was a little bit higher.

It is an odd area, what things do you think this space would be good to store?
Also the back doors could of had a storage space like this "C" area but they don't.

What is the purpose of this?
