I....are people not using their thumbs to hold things?? This thread is so confusing....

The good news is those four bolts are operational!! You could put a lil 1x2 plank there and create your longer handle - could even add texturizer so your slippery hands don't fall off!

wow I would have bet those 4 bolts were just for looks.
I cant wait to see what some one with an XL mounts to them. LOL

Mine acts up in cold weather. I have to give it and extra pull to slam it shut. It funny about the door handles, but that’s not the problem. Is the mechanism of the door latch closure. The grease thickens in the colder temperatures. It’s no problem in the warmer months. It is getting better. Once in a while, I have to re close it. Funny crap though. You guys are hilarious.

Yeah, and how about that terrible seam in the seat that is so uncomfortable!
Where is this seam? is it one that is front to back or runs side to side?

You will have to search that on your own. I never said it was an issue just someone said I made a stupid complaint
about the door handles and others have have complained about the seats but no one posted a bunch of stupid jokes on their thread. I guess another stupid complaint. Lots of people going through a lot of trouble to post on this thread with their artist talents. Suggest you ask the guy in the thread below.

Yeah, and how about that terrible seam in the seat that is so uncomfortable! All I said was the handle feels awkward and all hell breaks out.
Welcome to the Internet!

I also hate the "door handles". I created an extender from a piece of scrap 2x4. Easy!

Cut to length.
Attach with 3 inch stainless screws.
Painted them orange.

Works great.

Easy fix- Drill a hole into the interior door grab handle, loop a rope thru, tie on knot on the spot closest to the door and cut to about a foot in length- Boom ! Problem solved-

Here is the solution to the door handle problem. Just put one of these on the inside and outside:

Such a horrible truck. First pizzas won’t sit flat, now the doors won’t auto shut without some muscle. That’s it, selling mine before the seats stop working.

hey, hey … Let’s not pick on my “back seat pizza” query. An idle question of vital concern to many, apparently … har-de-har …

That should be one of those handicap lever type handles. That style is hard to handle in wet weather.

Been driving the Maverick a lot lately delivering griceries for Wal Mart which requires a lot of getting in and out. I find I get the Door ajar message a lot. Not really digging the door handles. Not sure why they cut them off. Awkward to grab and the leverage to close seems off.
@Donald — You may want to try these aftermarket inserts that fit into that space at the end of the interior door handles. I’ve been contemplating trying them for passenger convenience storage, but may work also as a new “grab spot” for closing the doors from inside.

Without anything stowed in the pocket, there’d be a space to put your hand in. Don’t have them — haven’t tried them — so don’t know how tightly they fit in there. Apparently they are designed to just sit in there without attachment, but if you were going to rely on the pockets to close the door with, might need to attach them with sturdy hook-and-loop strips or 3M adhesive strips.
