I’m a fan of the grab handle
I like having options in how I grab it
Being able to vary your grip is nice. Sometimes it gets old gripping it the same way all the time. Try it from the end, or even upside down. It'll feel different and bring a whole new sensation to... (ahem) Closing the door.

May have gotten off topic there for a second.

This comment re the handles was the first thing my lady said when we got the truck. I almost wonder if the extension portion was on the opposite side of the gap - shift the bottle forward- if that would be better.

Great sensible comment. That would put the leverage farther away from the hinge creating better leverage. You could also rest your elbow on the arm rest for more leverage.

It still makes it easier and more ergonomic. For me it’s about your hand reaching for the intuitive location, and with it coming from the other way your hand doesn’t slide off as the door moves inward.

I....are people not using their thumbs to hold things?? This thread is so confusing....

The good news is those four bolts are operational!! You could put a lil 1x2 plank there and create your longer handle - could even add texturizer so your slippery hands don't fall off!

Ooooo! Would that make the Maverick a "woody"?

You don’t know or have a clue about me to insinuate anything about my physical abilities. My physical therapy is going quite well for my muscular dystrophy.

The Maverick's interior door handle is the result of an exhaustive human factors engineering evaluation resulting in ergonomic elation for many. The fewer muscle groups needed to operate the handle, the more efficient it is to use. This is essentially what defines ergonomics in design. There’s just one caveat: People come in different sizes, so what’s ergonomic for most Maverick owners might not be ergonomic for Donald.

This is why anthropometry data is critical. Anthropometrics is the study of human body measurements. When it comes to compact truck interior door handles, you’re dealing with a tricky area. It’s not like say, a pair of pliers, where a person can choose what they find the most comfortable. A Maverick's door handle is to be used by everyone who needs egress to the outside.

Anthropometrics can best choose a door handle design for most vehicles. Because you’re dealing with so many drivers, both male and female, one should use the largest hand dimensions that your data gives you. For example, NASA has this anthropometric data on hands.

40-Year-Old American Male for Year 2000: values in cm (inches)

Dimension
5th percentile
50th percentile
90th percentile
Hand length
17.9 (7.0)
19.3 (7.6)
20.6 (8.1)
Hand breadth
8.2 (3.2)
8.9 (3.5)
9.6 (3.8)
Hand circumference
20.3 (8.0)
21.8 (8.6)
23.4 (9.2)

For sake of argument, consider that you are in the 90th percentile. That means 90% of the other values within the population fall below you and 10% are above you. You should consider each of the hand dimensions in the 90th percentile when designing the vehicle's handle.

Location and physical ergonomics aside, one should also consider the value offered by Ford utilizing hi-visibility orange to identify the handle in limited visibility conditions. Orange is also the color of choice for roadwork signs, cones, and more.

Yeah I agree I basically keep a RTIC bottle in the door incase I'm a little parched and then just fill it up next time after I empty it.
I've had no luck finding a bottle that fits.
What is the exact RTIC bottle that you're using?

Thank you!

I forgot to mention it's only effective if it is Bertman's Original Ball Park Mustard - looks like you've gone with yellow mustard and just created a mess for yourself!
