Yes, the handle is the problem! Again “you” don’t have a clue about me.

I....are people not using their thumbs to hold things?? This thread is so confusing....

The good news is those four bolts are operational!! You could put a lil 1x2 plank there and create your longer handle - could even add texturizer so your slippery hands don't fall off!

It’s not about tolerable design, people can obviously close their doors, it’s about improved/ more ergonomic design.

I agree tho? I offered a potential option for modification that would suit someone that cannot utilize the door as existing, provide yourself the ergonomic design you prefer.

\incoming admin y'all this thread got spicy for little reason

I don't think anyone needs a clue to understand the handle is most definitely NOT the problem here.

I’m not mad at all, your 2x4 is great.

not you specific to me, just in general - it's a recurring theme on this site and someone is bound to report one of these posts, admins just shut the whole thread down typically.

Ergonomics and comfortability are intensely subjective factors of course, but unfortunately in Capitalism people with disfunctions aren't exactly catered to - the onus is unfortunately on them to ensure the products they buy conform to them or can be altered to do so.

If this thread isn't locked down it'd be cool to see some mock up designs that utilize the four bolts that might better help OP with closing his door

Yeah just the internet in general to be honest. And everyone is on edge post pandemic… nothing is as chill. You should build the 2x4 and post it for lols.

While we're on the subject of subjective shitty design..

Why is the first rest point of the open door at like 70 degrees??? I'm half tempted to drill/weld a new bump on the hinge arm - tight parking you gotta hold the door so it doesn't swing to the first rest point and hit an adjacent car before it can

Not gonna lie... when I first started reading this threat I assumed he was talking about the exterior door handles. I guess we'll need to start a separate thread to discuss the issues those are causing.
Me also on exterior black door handle on cactus grey XLT when I back into garage I can see the black handle just missing the white freezer in my passenger mirror = 👌(am usually couple inches closer) also one pic shows outside door handle as seen through mirror🤗. Wife's maverick on other side of garage pulls in and when blue stress ball hanging from ceiling touches driver's side glass there is5" clearance from shelves on that side of truck. This allows 19" between trucks and driver's door on each truck can be fully open and clear the rear bumper of the other truck!👍👍

Been driving the Maverick a lot lately delivering griceries for Wal Mart which requires a lot of getting in and out. I find I get the Door ajar message a lot. Not really digging the door handles. Not sure why they cut them off. Awkward to grab and the leverage to close seems off.
My doors don't always shut tight either, but that is because of the air tight seal in the cab I think. My wife never shuts them hard enough to get them closed all the time, but I'm talking from the outside of the vehicle not from pulling on the handles.

I’m thinking that’s what part of my problem is. Tried it today with the window partially down and is better. Someone mentioned a vent behind the back seat. Gonna check that out.

Such a horrible truck. First pizzas won’t sit flat, now the doors won’t auto shut without some muscle. That’s it, selling mine before the seats stop working.
Yeah, and how about that terrible seam in the seat that is so uncomfortable! All I said was the handle feels awkward and all hell breaks out.
