For those who chose this route, it is actually fairly easy.

New instructions are below. Some pictures are below but not sure of their order shown.

1. You do not need to take off the door trim. That work was required to identify the necessary wires.

2. Take off the interior cover on the B pillar.

3. Cut and remove the black cloth tape and find the white/brown and green/brown wires. Chose your preferred wire splicer and splice in both wires. VERY IMPORTANT. Test your power lock actuator before you route the wires.

4. Once testing is successful, then route the wires back to the tailgate.

5. Buy a generic Ford 2 wire connector as parts to connect to the power lock actuator. I built a connector from scratch. See picture.

I have ordered one of these connectors suspecting it will fit the power lock actuator. It had an extended delivery date but will confirm fitment once received.

I wanted to thank everyone for the great information here. I did the lock actuator and wiring on my brand new XL that I just bought. I removed the trim panels from the door post all the way back to the rear of the truck and found a little rubber grommet that allowed me to run the wires straight back through the passenger side fender, under the tail ight and over to the tailgate. While I had the trim panels removed, I also tapped into the factory cargo lights located up top with the brake light. Ran those wires through the same spot as the tail gate wiring so I can install some led lights for the bed that'll work with the factory ones. I wanted them to turn on when I click unlock on the key fob or press the button by the headlight switch. I found a great price on the lock actuator at Walmart of all places. Was cheap and works perfect! The web page at Walmart doesn't say it works with 2025 and up Mavericks but it's a perfect fit on my 2025 Maverick. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Unique-B...24-JB3Z-9943170-A-2-Pin-Rear-Unit/17944722899

Followed the steps but couldn't get the power lock and unlock working with splice connectors, I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.

Following the pictures, I spliced into the white/green and brown/green cables from the driver's side but there is no reaction on any power actuators once cabled up for testing.

I thought it could be that the splice connectors were faulty or loose so I tested the pins on the connector and it didn't seem to pulse power when locking or unlocking the car.

this is only for 25 and 26 Maverick, use the 22-24 tailgate solution for one is you but those years, it's plug and play.

Do you have any information on the cargo light wires that you tapped into for bed lights? Location and colors?

One thing that sold me on the Lariet was the locking tailgate. Combined with a hard folding cover, it gave you some level of secured storage.

I don't remember their colors. I tapped into the wires going to the cargo bed lights above the rear window. Ran my wires inside the headliner, down behind the back seat and out the same spot as the tail gate lock wires. Ran inside the right rear fender to the right rear tail light area then into the bed for my bed lights.

I spent half of the day under 2025 Xl and 2024 XL. Was trying to find right wire that I can connect to. Interesting finding that wire colour's remained the same for 22-25 that are responsible for tailgate power lock. They are Yellow/ purple line and Blue/ red line. Cord that I bought for XLT 2025 got the same colour marking as previous models. It's insane...... But....main large cable under the vehicle that running from inside of the vehicle need to be replaced entirely. And completely not with it. Just by it self it cost 1400$ chepest that I can find and probably will take half of the day to replace. Tapping into and splicing side door panel is kinda a better option. I will try to look an easier option to run wires. Just wanted a honest OP opinion before I start removing some panels.

Bringing back this thread. do you have the part number for the $1400 cable? I'd love to find a diagram of where that plugs into the car and splice from there rather than from the door switch.

Don't have it currently. Need to look for it. It was way easier to connect to the door. Aslo, when I was under the vehicle it looked like vehicle Is built around that main cable. Door, cable that I installed works. It's been a year, no issues.
