I have ordered one of these connectors suspecting it will fit the power lock actuator. It had an extended delivery date but will confirm fitment once received.For those who chose this route, it is actually fairly easy.
New instructions are below. Some pictures are below but not sure of their order shown.
1. You do not need to take off the door trim. That work was required to identify the necessary wires.
2. Take off the interior cover on the B pillar.
3. Cut and remove the black cloth tape and find the white/brown and green/brown wires. Chose your preferred wire splicer and splice in both wires. VERY IMPORTANT. Test your power lock actuator before you route the wires.
4. Once testing is successful, then route the wires back to the tailgate.
5. Buy a generic Ford 2 wire connector as parts to connect to the power lock actuator. I built a connector from scratch. See picture.

CONFIRMED. 31403-2100 plug does fit the power lock assembly.
