Thanks for your post! Did you have an easy time removing the connector on the back side of the DLC plug? I cant seem to pull it out.
That plug is a bear to get out. It will come out you just really have to pull on it. I used a screw driver for some leverage

worth every penny 👌
How about the many extra $$$ in gas cost because of the lower MPG numbers

STATE GAS PRICE AVERAGES

Current National Average for 87 Regular is $4.173

CA: $5.444
TX: $3.855 - In Coppell it is now $3.999 at the local Shell

I really like the auto-start/stop in my hybrid. It is seamless and 40+ MPGs are really nice in the $4 (and going higher) gas prices.

How much extra fuel does one use would you guess?

I'm guessing if you pass someone on a 2 lane road (WOT) that would offset any savings for an entire tank of fuel vs stop/start feature.

It is more likely somewhere around a gallon's worth of gas per tank. But you are right, hard acceleration costs about the same. So, drive lightly and use stop/start and you could get 28mpg, or add this to your truck and drive like a bandit and get 23mpg.

That is $8 bucks a tank, if you fill weekly that is $400/year give or take. I'm in the middle on this one. Drive it hard, but I have zero issue with the stop/start - I think they did a great job of it with the Maverick.

Having driven a couple of other vehicles with it, the Maverick is by far the best implementation (My 2019 Ranger was ok, not a bother but definitely less seamless; rented a Rav4 last fall and it was brutally bad - shook the SUV like it was in a minor accident).

My BMW 2.0 used to get about 1.5 mpg (around 5%) better using the auto stop.

1000 miles/month at 25 mpg = 40 gallons, 5% better = 2 gallons or around $100/year at $4/gallon.

We do drive mostly in town though.

Hard to believe people pay $100 for the thrill of wasting gas at red lights.

I was interested until I saw the price. I can push a button to save $100.

Your answer made me look online. Seems I'm finding a 4cyl / 2.0 Using about 20 oz an hour during idle. So one would have to idle for approx 6 hours to burn about a gallon. I doubt most would ever accomplish that unless you are in NY city traffic:)

Auto Stop/Start saves on average 4% for most drivers, and as much as 10% depending on driving habits (such as sitting in those long Costco gas lines).
