Everybody's all worked up about these new electric vehicles I'm still waiting on when hydrogen powered cars will be the normThe Maverick hybrid gets more than twice the range as a standard Lighting and take only 5 Minutes to fill up.

Sorry, once Mr. Fusion is in mass production it will be electric all the way...Everybody's all worked up about these new electric vehicles I'm still waiting on when hydrogen powered cars will be the norm
My son rented a Tesla last week to make a 190 mile trip (one way) and back on same day. It required him to stop 3 different times for charging. It sounded like a big pain in the ass to me. The range of a hybrid Maverick would have required no stopping at all if that is what you wanted.
Ford has now developed a cable that would allow 5 minute charging....My son rented a Tesla last week to make a 190 mile trip (one way) and back on same day. I do not look forward to all electric vehicles at all.
My dream truck would be the hybrid with a bigger battery and a plug in option. There would be no range problems and most of the time you would just use the battery.I am hoping they electrify the Maverick in the next 5 yrs. if so I will definitely be looking to move over.
Main takeaway from Fords press release, game changing but: “ While the fast-charging cable won’t be on the market for some time as research continues, …”
If Tesla could actually build something that doesn’t burst into flames, then maybe:Cybertruck will be the solution.
FYI you never have to plugin a PHEV. It can run indefinitely on gasoline. Just take advantage of the EV part when available otherwise it's a 40+ mpg vehicle works the same as any other gas or hybrid vehicle. I have a Volt and I love it. I go months without turning on the gas engine. Finally filled up today just to top up and it was a whopping $29 when gas is about $5 a gallon here! Gas engine is there if I ever go further than normal but I'm getting 65 miles on a charge even though it officially is raged at 58. It handles my Daly commute and leaves about 20 miles range afterwork for food or grocery run. I'd trade it for a PHEV Maverick if it can get 50 miles on a charge. Can't wait to get the Maverick though it's replacing the wife's CR-VWith EV's pushing the advancement of better batteries, I think this is indirectly bettering hybrid technology. Whether traditional or plug-in, better batteries make better hybrids. I have a feeling that batteries will be the new standard powertrain a la the new Maverick. This is why I'm hoping Ford creates a PowerBoost version of the 2023 Ranger. A hybrid you don't have to plug in can be extremely advantageous, especially for people who live in apartment complexes that don't provide EV stations.
Just because the cable allows it doesn't mean the battery does. I don't think there's an way a battery that size charges that fast.Ford has now developed a cable that would allow 5 minute charging....
Supposedly that's down to 10Just because the cable allows it doesn't mean the battery does. I don't think there's an way a battery that size charges that fast.
I'd be happy to retrofit Mr. Fusion into my Maverick! I won't even need the full 1.21 jigawatts either! I could use leftover power to charge Teslas and make a few bucks!Sorry, once Mr. Fusion is in mass production it will be electric all the way...
And how much life does charging like that take off of the battery?Supposedly that's down to 10
