At noon today I have an appointment for the mobil service tech to come to my home and do three software updates on one of my maverick hybrids. I am going to ask him about the 12v situation many are having but I have never had the deep sleep just the no dome light. Maybe he can and will provide a little backroom knowledge. I'll update.
They will probably just tell you to drive more !

Many batteries (especially hybrid) are on backorder.
This should tell you something.

There are a few who drive a lot and are reporting issues but I believe majority are from those who drive little or a lot of short trips. I have noticed that 4 miles trips with a shutoff / on inbetween are pretty bad for the battery. Do that trip 5x per week and its a guaranteed deletion.

you are better off letting it run during the stop....

I knew exactly what you meant when I read your title. I have to do the same thing if I want to use my remote start in this cold weather. To keep all the features we use (heated seats, remote start ….) working I have to charge the battery every couple of days.. I’ve had it into the Ford dealer twice and they pretty much shrug and say everything looks ok. But they charged the battery to fix the issue. So I’d say it’s an undersized battery in a brand new truck, a bad battery, or an undersized charging system. So the next time I can’t warm up my truck on a cold day I’ll take it back to Ford again:(

The battery problem is an industry problem due to the computerization and the excessive use that are used in most vehicles. The Ford maverick apparently has more draw down than others but some blame I'm sure can be on the BMS algorithm. The 2.0 EB's also have problems but they have an agm battery that has 760CCA and around 50% more RCA capacity. Both are lead based and are subject to sulfation the deeper the drawdown is. The sulfation reduces the AH capacity of a fully charged battery. A deep cycle battery will resist sulfation more due to usually a stronger acid solution as well as lead of higher purity, but still happens, just slower. I had a 2012 Honda CRF that ate it's battery in 26-32 months due to delaying of charging the battery until the ice was warmed up or until battery soc dropped to a certain level. (The delay helped obtain better mpg but was detrimental to battery). I found that if I ran the running lights and the cabin fan on medium the alternator would output 14.4-14.6 at cold start. That and putting 12v on my noco genius 5 every 3-5 months I could get 60+ months out of battery (put new battery into it and gave car to granddaughter). On my maverick FE Lariat after I had my 23E09 recall done my power point voltage monitor shows that the 12v bus spends more time over 15 volts that it did before I don't know if the reprogram recall was the cause as I wrote on work order when I signed it "12v will loose as much as 0.2 volts overnight". So maybe the tech tweaked a setting???". Never had a deep sleep on this maverick and have never put my noco on it either.

Yes I do want a Toyota but they don't have a model I like right now. Been driving Toyotas for 40 years. Still have a 2002 4runner that I'll keep. I should get my 24 lariat in Jan. I'll see if I keep the maverick.
I have had a Pontiac Vibe ( Matrix), a Camry and the RAV. Next vehicle will be a Corolla Cross.

Did you remove your vehicle out of the profile on the app or just physically deleted the app off your phone?
Can't remember, but it's been six months since I deleted it the whole shooting thing off the phone.

Yes. Corolla Cross looks good. If I don't like my maverick I'll trade for that or a RAV-4

Also make sure you turn off the Ford Pass communications found on the Mav head unit otherwise it may continue to look for your phone and expend power doing so.

My wife's hybrid started having this issue this winter (only this last month). However she drives less than a mile a day. I think that, along with the cold, isn't helping.

However like OP...it's always started. I told her I wouldn't look into it until it doesn't start. But I will try to drive a lot this weekend and see if it charges the battery.

Thank you Ford for giving me a plug in hybrid maverick! You all told me they wouldn't make a plug in hybrid lol (Since my hybrid is always in deep sleep mode even when driving 60 miles a day)

In all seriousness I really really hope that charging the battery every few weeks will fix my deep sleep mode. It's very frustrating when trying to get my kid in the car when it's pitch black outside and inside since the lights don't work in sleep mode. Plus can't remote start the car in winter time in sleep mode.
I feel your pain. Thinking about mounting a dc outlet in the side fender badge. I guess a charge session once a week is the only solution I have found. I go have not had a deep sleep episode since replacing the battery even though the battery monitor I installed says the voltage is low. I drove 600 miles last week.

Collectively you think we could solve this. My 2022 Hybrid went in deep sleep several times a month - the amount of driving I did didn't really seem to help one way or another. My 2023 Hybrid has had zero issues thus far.

Differences I can note: The 2022 had a modem, the 12v in the bed was always energized and it clicked and clacked WAY more than my 2023.

Update: I trickle charged the battery two days ago and then drove it both yesterday and today long distances and it is still in sleep mode. Battery was only at 77% when I started charging it so not horribly low. This issue is very frustrating.

I think my next step is to disable all the remote features from the maverick screen and remove my maverick from Ford pass. Frustrating as in winter I would like to use remote start to deice windows but unfortunately my highest priority is being able to see in the cabin with overhead lights so I can properly put my kid in his car seat when it's dark out.
@Ford Motor Company hopefully there is a software update in the future and you folks are looking into this well known and documented issue with all us hybrid owners.
