I have had one deep sleep (started fine), been doing a trickle charge once a week and it's been fine since. I honestly can't wrap my head around having to do this on a brand new car.

Bigger better battery might do the truck but the poor algorithm will eventually leave you with a charge deficit? Maybe ?

Ford should have added a plug for a 12v charger standard on the plastic trim on the fender !

Lastly any low battery warning leaves doubts, and many worry it won't start.

I may end up trying a better battery too if my trickle charger only gives me an extra day or two before sleep mode. Will going AGM for battery have any negative effects on the system at all?
I'll chime in and say I went for it and installed an AGM battery in mine. My initial findings are not all that promising. It's still early on, but I'm regretting this decision.

While monitoring live data via FORScan, my SOC continues to drop every day. I'm only losing maybe 3-4% charge while parked, but I only get 0-1% back driving to and from work. I'm only putting 0-2A into the battery while the truck is running. Started the week fully charged, down in the high 60's now. Just doesn't want to charge it, it or the dealer-supplied Motorcraft that came before it.

(Quick edit, 1 week in. Bumped target charge level in FORScan up to 92%, doing much better now. Truck now responds to battery level dropping by raising charge amps. What I've been chasing for months now. Might have an actual solution here.)

Take it all with a grain of salt, whatever the source of my issue is may not be the same as yours.

Regardless, my own PHEV system is still keeping me alive. Putting my FITS slots and 3D printer to good use!

Deltran Battery Tender Jr. Don't mess with the other crap. Get the real thing, hook it up to the under hood jump posts. Plug it in as often and for as long as you can. I have four vehicles and they each have their own.
I use that exact charger on my V-Rod

Thanks for the information about what you have tried. This is sounding more and more like an actual issue with the system since several others have had the same results as you. Is your new battery bigger capacity than the OEM one was?

Yes, the BXT99RT4A battery that was in it before was 43 AH, with a 65 minute reserve capacity.

New one is 50 AH with an 80 minute reserve capacity. It's also AGM vs the stock flooded lead acid. It should charge faster compared to the outgoing one. But as of now I'm not seeing much difference.

I would agree, It appears the issue lies in the charging system. For the record, I'm outside the date range for the bad wiring harnesses and I had the charging fuse looked at (but not replaced) by my dealer. The BMS system was reset after the new battery was installed, FORDpass was disabled like 9 months ago. None of the commonly cited solutions to this issue have been effective for me.

I can't afford to be without a car for an extended period of time right now, but it needs to go back to the dealer and I need to get them to start swapping parts out. With the information I have access to via FORScan, I'll know when it starts acting right. I keep my log book thread updated with my insane rambling. Eventually, it will get fixed. And whatever is wrong, I`ll document it in there.

All this "deep sleep, no start, dark at night, battery charger, etc. stuff is making me crazy. I don't want a new car that I can't depend on.

At noon today I have an appointment for the mobil service tech to come to my home and do three software updates on one of my maverick hybrids. I am going to ask him about the 12v situation many are having but I have never had the deep sleep just the no dome light. Maybe he can and will provide a little backroom knowledge. I'll update.

Thank you Ford for giving me a plug in hybrid maverick! You all told me they wouldn't make a plug in hybrid lol (Since my hybrid is always in deep sleep mode even when driving 60 miles a day)

In all seriousness I really really hope that charging the battery every few weeks will fix my deep sleep mode. It's very frustrating when trying to get my kid in the car when it's pitch black outside and inside since the lights don't work in sleep mode. Plus can't remote start the car in winter time in sleep mode.
Hey K, here is a cheap way out of your "darkness" problem. What a PITA Ford created by not having the overhead light come on when opening the doors! I bought a set of 5 LED Push Lights from Dream Master, off Amazon.com. I installed one on the bulkhead between the front and rear doors on my drivers side. In your case, install one on both sides of the truck. They run on 3 AAA batteries. Just a thought...

I'm picking my MY22 hybrid up from the dealership today for the same problems ... plus the grabby brake issue. They kept it overnight to see if the charge will last, so should know more today.

My 2022 Lariat Lux w/360 has never gone into sleep mode. It is usually driven every day, but it has sat for up to 4 days, after which, it started like usual. The truck has about 13K miles on it and the only 'Ford fix' it needs is the undercarriage cover to address fires.
We do not use FordPass so the truck is not constantly on like a cell phone. It does the usual clickity click noises when approached, so whatever that is, it's on. The truck has the 45Ah battery that appears to be a lead/acid battery because it has warnings about sulfuric acid.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Once I deleted Ford Pass off my phone, the battery issues stopped, I don't give a rip about remote start, the computer tells me when to change the oil or if a tire is low but it doesn't nag me about deep sleep anymore.

Did you remove your vehicle out of the profile on the app or just physically deleted the app off your phone?

Then you want a Toyota. Change oil and filter, check the tires. Put gas in it. Drive.

Yes I do want a Toyota but they don't have a model I like right now. Been driving Toyotas for 40 years. Still have a 2002 4runner that I'll keep. I should get my 24 lariat in Jan. I'll see if I keep the maverick.
