Absolutely not. The Maverick is a new model for Ford. Ford is an automotive manufacture that has had and is having consistent issues with recalls and reliability. The Maverick is not a tried and true tested vehicle yet.

I know this isn't going to be the most popular opinion but the Honda Civic Sport starting at $25K is leaps and bounds above the Maverick. Not just on reliability but fit and finish, interior materials quality, and interior passenger space are all above or on par with the Maverick.

Come at me bro's.........
The 1.5 in the civic is significantly less reliable than anything the maverick has 😆.

The LX and Sport models come standard with the NA 2.0 liter inline four. While it may not be one of the most powerful engines on the market today it is one of the most reliable. Something that entry level vehicle buyers should be interested in.

I also like how you glazed over my other points and went straight to the engine. Well done....(y)

Can anyone else name an entry level product from any mainstream brand that's been this affordable, practical, reliable, efficient, good looking, fun to drive? While also having this much character? I've never seen another affordable vehicle that has this much passion put into it.

I've been in civics, in Kia Rios, Toyota tercels, cruzes, fiestas. There's always this underlying message of "We don't really care about you" that you get from something like a Corolla or a civic. It's a "They'll take whatever we give them" mentality. The maverick is the first entry level vehicle I've ever experienced that doesn't feel or act like an entry level vehicle, that's a major reason why it's sucessful imo. The efficiency and versatility is great, but it's also an affordable vehicle that values you as it's owner.
Don’t care

My 2022 Nissan Sentra SV with premium package and cold weather package is also an amazing buy.
$25k and you get heated and power, beautiful quilted leather, 2-tone seats (Nissan calls them zero gravity seats) that are ultra comfortable. Honestly WAY more comfortable seats than the maverick seats. Especially on long drives.
Heated leather steering wheel, dual zone climate control, Adaptive Cruise Contol, sun roof, remote engine start, rear collision/pedestrian backup warning system, blind spot warning (with light that illuminates on the interior, not on the mirror like the Maverick), painted factory mud flaps,
And on the freeway in ECO mode I can get anywhere from 43 up to 50 MPG (actually recorded/calculated by me, not going by the dash readout/cluster)
All that for 25k which makes it about the price of the XLT. I realize it’s not a truck. But for what you get and how nice the Sentra is, it’s also an exceptional buy if your looking for a really nice sedan that’s not too expensive but still very luxury appointed.

Every Nissan that anyone in my family has owned has been crap. They quickly fall apart, and they depreciate accordingly.

However.

There are numerous other examples of vehicles that come with standard with WAY more tech and comfort than the Maverick XL, XLT, and even if we accept the Lariat tech package, the interior quality is subpar for $37-41K.

Mines been phenomenal. I take care of my cars though. Lots of people beat up and abuse their cars.
Plan is to not keep it over 5 years.

The Maverick definitely has character. That's what appeals most to me. Anytime when I drive it I can't help but feel a little special since they're still so uncommon despite being two years into production. I actually hope it stays that way. If they got pumped out as much as F-150s it wouldn't feel special anymore and would eventually come across as boring.

The best (and worst) part is the interior. It's great because it doesn't look like anything else on the market. There's so much attention to detail in an effort to make cheap materials look unique. The different colors, the textured door panels/dashboard trim, the cubby hole on the side of the touchscreen, the shape of the armrests/grab handles, the exposed rivets, the two-tone seats with the denim pattern on XLTs. Even the buttons on the center console are different.

It's also bad because the materials themselves do not hold up very well. Like everyone mentions, it scratches very easily, even without you touching it. The high touch points especially don't stand a chance. Looking at used ones, the common trouble spots are the bottoms of the door panels where people like to kick open the door (which is a stupid thing to do imo) the door handles, the b-pillar trim, the beauty caps around the seat rails, the power seat adjustments if equipped, and the back of the center console. Even when being careful it still manages to scratch which is the main gripe I have with it. I understand that it was built on a strict budget to keep the affordable cost but it wouldn't hurt to have better quality plastics so it will wear better overtime.

Overall, I couldn't agree more OP. This is definitely up there with the all-time best entry level vehicles made. (y)
I like the versatility, cost, utility and the way it scoots around. I'm way beyond an entry-level vehicle.

I like the/my Lariat interior. Nice and simple and uncluttered (unlike everything else in my life). I heard complaints about the scratches but no problems so far.

The interior plastic is complete trash. They should have charged more money and put something more durable in there. Absolutely comical seeing the Built Ford Tough imprint on the side of the dashboard.

The only car I've loved as much (if not more) than my Maverick was my VERY basic 1998 Honda Civix CX hatchback I bought new, after a series of buying crappy used cars (mostly VWs.) The thing was so basic I had to pay an additional $1100 to have AC installed. That mofo ran like a tank, and with a few mild glitches that were typical for that particular make and year, the car brought many smiles and was a faithful companion for 12+ years.

Sadly, I was rear-ended by a tractor trailer, and that was the end of that vehicle. Walked away with nothing more than a bruised ankle, but the impact was bad enough to blow out all the rear windows, and my driver's seat twisted to the left. because of the impact.
That says the Civic loved you, as much as you loved it. It gave it's life, to save yours!

Our Bronco doesn't have the best plastic, either. The trim behind the front seatbelts scuffs almost as easily as a Maverick. But the dashboard in particular is far better in the Bronco.
